Day off (Modern Au) P.3
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x cousin!reader
Summary: One of the most talked about gossips among the lower class servants in Kings Landing is the fact (or not) that Aemond Targaryen got involved with his cousin Y/n Targaryen when they were both teenagers. Mainly due to the fact that at the age of 17 she was sent to Old Town overnight. Some employees claim that Aemond was caught between her legs. Some say that, like her father, she had had a horrible fight with her uncle and uncle and was sent away. And other than that none of this happened, she just became interested in the course offered at the Old Town conservatory. But now five years later, Y/n Targaryen is back, and rumors haunt those who favor them.

"Good morning Kings landing, it seems that the birthday party of our dearest Cece Lanister was the event of the year. From what our columnists heard, Y/n Targaryen attended her former friend's party, but apparently she didn't stay for long Did our beloved Targaryen's time in Old Town change her that much?"
❦❦❦
The flavor of seven tea house was packed as always for breakfast. At a table further away, sitting with her cell phone in her hand and visibly impatient, was Floris Baratheon.
-I haven't been able to talk to Aemond since last night. - Floris commented in the group of friends in annoyance.
-He dropped you off at home? - Nia asked, curving her eyebrows.
-No, he disappeared in the middle of the party, I know he doesn't like this type of event, but he must have had a good reason to leave without warning. - She commented with a frown on her forehead, looking at the cell phone display while the group's friends looked at each other.
-What's it? - She asked when she saw the expressions on their faces.
-I don't know, Floris, don't you think it's strange that he disappeared in the middle of the party yesterday, right after she returned? - Pia said, slightly biting her lips in apprehension.
-She who? - Floris asked rolling her eyes.
-Y/n Targaryen.
-Time please. - She rolled her eyes even more deeply and spoke in a mocking voice. - Are you believing the gossip from the servants now?
-I don't know if it's just gossip.
-They are cousins Jane. Cousins.
-Yes, just as her father is Laena Valaryon's cousin and the two are married in Pentos.
-Look, his mother assured me that this was all just malicious gossip spread by servants who have nothing better to do.
Everyone raised their eyebrows at the prospect that she had asked Aemond's mother about the matter.
-Flo I don't know, this whole story is very strange. Do you remember your school days? The two of them were always together and had those strange looks at each other. - Jane said a little unbelieving.
-Okay, that's enough. - Floris protested irritably with her friends. - Aemond doesn't have anything to do with his cousin!
-Okay, we won't say anything else. - Elyrio said, raising both hands in surrender. - But you have to admit that it is strange.
-Do you want to know? I have to go, my dad needs me at the company today. - Floris picked up her own coffee and phone from the table and left, slightly tense, and Jane thought she saw the name Alicent in the phone book on Floris' cell phone before her friend left.
-You know what people say about why she went to Old Town. - After Floris left, Elyrio continued with a mischievous smile while wagging his eyebrows. - It looks like she was sent away because his mother caught them playing doctor in his room.
-I don’t know, but from what they say he was the gynecologist. - Lion blurted out in an even more malicious voice.
-How do you know about that? - Jane asked with wide eyes.
-We can't be sure, but the Targaryens' gardener is the brother of our family's cook. - Elyrio continued the conversation excitedly. - And from what we heard her talking to the other employees…
-It's not just rumors. - Lion concluded for his brother.
-That's so low, even for you guys - Nia rolled her eyes at the two brothers with a look of disbelief. - Aemond and Floris like each other.
-Oh please, has anyone ever seen Aemond kissing Floris? - Jane rolled her eyes as she said while drinking some of her own iced tea. - Whenever he's around he has that disgusted look on his face, it looks like someone put a rotten fish under his snobbish nose.
-I think it's just his way. - Nia defended, curving her eyebrows. - The family is all kind of weird after all, what with the royal descent thing and everything.
-Helaena Targaryen is not like that, I saw her picking up trash on the beach last week. -Lion smiled when he said that, but not in the malicious way he did when he talked about Aemond and Y/n.
-Helaena doesn't count. - Jane intervened at the same moment. - The girl is sweeter than any other human being that has ever walked the earth, I don't even know if she is even human.
-Have you spoken to Aegon yet? - Elyrio asked with an incredulous look as he moved his own coffee straw with his fingertips. - He makes you think that we have returned to the time of conquest and that everyone around must obey and serve him.
-But you guys forget that Aemond wasn't always like this. - Lion dragged the conversation back to Aemond. - Which brings us to the original subject of this conversation, when we studied KLH together he was all smiles and helpful.
-But only when he was with his dear little cousin. - Elyrio shook his eyebrows mischievously as he drank more coffee, and then looked around before whispering to the others. -Jason Lanister swears that one day he saw him put his hand up her skirt in high school.
-Jai is a liar. - Nia grumbled irritably.
-Well Lin Blackwood said that he once saw a very obscene note in her locker signed with an A at the end. -Jane said while she bit her lower lip.
-Which could mean millions more people. - Nia once again refuted her friends' gossip.
-Okay, but what about that trip to Harrenhall? - Lion said looking Nia in the eyes mockingly. - That the club had a technical problem with the lights and sent everyone out and they were both red and sweaty in that corner?
-We were on a dance floor, everyone was red and sweaty.
-Nia, don't you remember how strange he was after she went to Old Town? - Jane asked, staring at her friend fixedly. - He disappeared from college for over a month and when he came back he had lost weight and wasn't talking to anyone.
-And now he just disappears without answering the night she comes back? - Elyrio concluded hastily, as if gossiping was fuel to make his soul happy.
Pia's look at this point was even more apprehensive, as if she was holding air in her lungs and was going to explode at any moment. Elyrio, realizing this, raised his eyebrows curiously as he looked at his friend.
-Pia. - He hummed her name. - You know something!
-I do not know anything. - She immediately denied it.
-Hurry up! - Lion said, pulling the chair closer to hers. - We tell you what we know, now you have to tell it too!
-It’s not exactly gossip. - She started, still biting her lip. - Or maybe it is, I don't know. But last night at Cece's party I heard two girls say that they saw Aemond leaving with Y/n and that the two seemed very close.
Everyone looked at each other in shock after hearing this.
-That doesn't prove absolutely anything. - Nia interrupted. - They are cousins, Aemond could just be giving her a ride.
-Or giving other things. - Lion said smiling while drinking his own coffee. - And from what we know he probably loves giving her rides.
-How mean you are! - Nia grumbled while biting into a pretzel.
-It's not about being mean, it's about being realistic! - Elyrio came to his brother's defense. - There is something very wrong with those two. Even you have to admit it Nia.

In the Targaryen mansion Alicent paced back and forth as she poked her fingers irritably. First Aemond didn't answer her and now all the calls were going straight to voicemail. She didn't want to accept it, but this could only be the work of that poisonous viper that had entangled itself with her son without her realizing it.
The phone rang and Alicent looked at it expectantly, but the name that appeared on the screen was not what she expected.
Floris.
Alicent's heart froze even more, and with slightly shaking hands she answered the phone, trying to appear calmer than she really was.
-Good morning Mrs Targaryen. - Came the gentle voice on the other end of the line.
-Hello my dear, how can I be of service?
-Do you happen to know where Aemond is? I can't talk to him and I'm already getting worried.
Alicent could feel the irritation in Floris's voice and she knew that just like her, the younger girl might also have her own suspicions.
-Aemond isn't feeling very well. In fact, he hadn't been well since yesterday, he told me he only left home yesterday so he could accompany you. - Alicent lied with a smile on her face.
-Is he at your house?
-Yes. - She confirmed it at the same moment.
-Then I'll come by and see hi…
-No my dear, I think it's better not to. - Alicent interrupted her mid-sentence. - Aemond is sleeping, I gave him some soup and medicine. You can rest assured.
-Are you sure Mrs. Targaryen?
-Absolute. - Alicent's voice left no room for disagreement, and after saying goodbye she hung up her cell phone, even more irritated if possible.
According to Oto told Alicent, Floris Baratheon's importance to Aemond was almost immeasurable if he even wanted to have a chance of succeeding Viserys as CEO of Targaryen Inc. one day. Using the possibility of uniting the two large companies would be a huge advantage over Rhaenyra since she had married and had children with Harwin Strong.
For Alicent, this wasn't as important as making her son forget about Y/n. Her main objective with this relationship was to make Aemond stop thinking about his cousin and not wanting to return to her. He was very reluctant when introduced to Floris, and only agreed to take the initiative when Oto told him it would be great for business.
But Alicent didn't see him talk about her, she didn't see him approach her, she hadn't even seen her son touch the girl for more than a minute. And she knew who was to blame for all this, even if she was miles away.
And now Y/n had been back for less than 24 hours and Aemond had disappeared from the map. Which made Alicent think the worst, her dear son could once again be involved in sinful acts with that little snake.
And after dozens of unanswered calls, an idea flashed through Alicent's head and she quickly dialed the number of the maid who cleaned Aemond and Aegon's apartment.
-Good morning Mrs. Dancil, is my son at his apartment? - She spoke in a sweet voice, but her tone quickly soured when she heard the woman saying that Aemond didn't let her pass the doorstep in the morning.
-He was alone? - She asked in an extremely irritated voice.
-I don't know ma'am, but from what I saw he had just gotten out of the shower.
Alicent hung up the phone without asking any more questions. For the seven, she would like to understand why all her children wanted to destroy their own lives before the gods and before society. Even her sweet and dear Aemond associating with that family destroyer.

The sun was high outside and entering the room strongly, with everything that had happened Aemond even thought about closing the curtains. The phone's annoying vibration woke him from his deep sleep, and the sunlight made him wake up for good. He reached down and pulled his phone out of his pants pocket and read the name on the display.
Mom.
-mmnn. - Aemond just muttered and turned off the cell phone, throwing it on the carpet, once again lost among the discarded clothes.
When he turned to the side he could see her, naked and tangled between the sheets, her hair falling wildly over her face and shoulders, the skin on her neck with bruises forming, her cheeks still red from the slap he had delivered. She still looked so beautiful sleeping, and Aemond knew he would never see a more beautiful sight in his life than that.
He knew he shouldn't be doing this, that it was wrong and the two of them shouldn't be together. And the night before Aemond had tried to resist, he really had, but it was impossible. It was one thing for her to be miles away in Old Town, it was another for her in front of him to speak in that melodious voice while she rubbed her own body against his.
And he had missed her so much, missed the moments when he could open his eyes and find her naked body next to his. And with his eyes still full of longing, Aemond took his hand to her waist, leaving soft caresses with his fingertips, going up and down from her hips to the curve of her breasts, outlining her curves with softness and adoration.
Now away from the frenzy of pleasure he paid more attention to the necklace around Y/n's neck. She continued to wear it, even after years, Aemond ran his fingers gently over the pendant, sighing at the memories that came back. Y/n's 16th birthday, the day he gave her that necklace. The day she gave herself completely to him. Aemond could never forget that moment and what he felt that night.
-Aem? - Her sleepy voice came, making him shiver.
-Hey. - He replied with his voice still hoarse from sleep, making Y/n stretch.
She raised her arms, stretching her muscles sore after the previous night, not even bothering to cover herself from Aemond's eyes. He had seen everything there was to see in her so many times, he had no reason to hide anymore.
-Still using it. - He said looking at the pendant between her breasts.
-I never took it off. - Y/n shrugged her shoulders as she took the pendant between her fingers. -It always brought me good memories.
She looked him in the eyes and Aemond felt himself shudder as he grabbed the back of her head and placed a wet kiss on his cousin's lips. Little by little he pulled her more and more into his own lap until Y/n was straddling him while they both kissed each other deeper and deeper, to the point where they almost lost their breath.
Aemond caressed every part of her body he could get his hands on. He touched everything that belonged to him. Squeezing and caressing her soft thighs and ass, going up her waist and squeezing her full breasts, only to then move his hands up to her neck and hair. It was as if Y/n would disappear at any moment, as if she were a fever dream that he needed to enjoy as much as possible before it ended.
Y/n was the same way, it was as if Aemond was water and she had been dying of thirst for a long time. She kissed him and caressed him back with the same desire and the same hunger for affection, running her fingers around her thin waist, caressing his chest, sighing with contentment when she could finally feel him against her again. Running her nails lightly down his back just like she knew he liked, and then tangling her fingers between the long strands of silver hair.
Both were drowning in each other. There was nothing else in the world at that moment, there was no family, responsibilities, scandal, companies, rumors or names to protect. Just them and the overwhelming desire they had for each other.
Aemond gently got up from the bed as he held her tightly against himself and walked towards the bathroom.
-Shower or bathtub? - Aemond spoke against her hair.
-Bathtub. - She sighed against his neck, and Aemond placed her delicately on the bathroom counter to fill the bathtub with hot water. A
After it was almost full he helped Y/n get in and sat behind her hugging her and caressing her belly, waist and breasts.
He slowly wet her hair calmly and gently, as if her hair were strands of the most precious silk, and then slowly washed it. Y/n closed her eyes in contentment, his hands against her skin and scalp, the smell of his shampoo all over the air intoxicating her.
Aemond rinsed her hair, washing away all the foam and leaving a soft kiss on the top of her head as he sighed as he smelled his own scent now completely attached to her. Y/n turned to face him and with a mischievous and sweet smile at the same time, she gently wet Aemond's hair as he closed his eyes.
She then did the same to him, but looking him in the eyes while she did it. She washed and massaged Aemond's hair with affection and devotion, caressing the locks with all the love she could while she felt herself being consumed by his gaze. Aemond felt softened, and knew that if he hadn't been sitting down he would probably fall to the floor at that moment, her soft caresses that he had missed so much leaving him floored. Y/n smiled as she rinsed his hair, feeling the soft, damp strands against her own hand.
Aemond and Y/n bathed each other with care and gentleness. As if one and the other were made of the finest and most delicate porcelain and would break at the slightest hard touch. Their fingers soaped and rinsed each other's skin, hungry for touch, hungry for affection.
And when Aemond touched Y/n in her intimacy she sighed and fell onto his chest in anticipation. He caressed her even more gently in that area, he could feel her wetness against his own fingers, he could feel how much she wanted him. The sweet and soft noises she made made his mind spin, and with a gentle thrust he entered Y/n's interior with his own cock already hard and throbbing for her.
Y/n held onto his shoulders with her head buried in the hollow of Aemond's neck, her eyes firmly pressed as she felt him inside her once again. And taking a deep breath, she moved over him, making some of the water come out of the tub, but neither of them cared. Her movements were firm and slow while Aemond held her tightly around her waist and hips, throwing her head back in ecstasy.
The two exchanged sweet, soft kisses as they moved against each other full of longing, holding each other tightly as they lost themselves in the frenzy. As the waves of pleasure passed through the body, both movements became stronger. Y/n held him tighter, just as Aemond held her, and they both looked into each other's eyes as they panted and moaned in sweet pleasure and contentment.
Y/n came first, shuddering over Aemond as she felt a wave of pleasure cross her own body and leave all her nerve endings out of control as she collapsed onto Aemond, who came soon after, feeling her cum against his cock, pressing his eyes tightly and pulling her even closer to him in a hot, breathless hug.
The two stayed there, just hugging each other, with Aemond still inside her, both missing each other, wanting to be close to each other for as long as possible, without any barrier separating them.
The water was already cold when the two got up from the tub and walked towards the bedroom again. Aemond dried Y/n's body, admiring every little detail of her, memorizing again every spot, every mark, every line.
Y/n showed off to him without any shame, feeling comfortable under her cousin's watchful and hungry gaze like she didn't feel anywhere else in the world.
And Aemond pulled her towards him again, hugging her tightly to the point that they both felt each other's hearts beating against their chests. He caressed the sides of her body with adoration, as if he needed to make sure it was all real. And when the two let go of the hug, Aemond returned to staring at her body with that same look that was a mixture of love, passion and hunger.
-As much as I love being admired by you, I'm going to need some clothes. - She said, smiling and caressing Aemond's neck with her fingertips.
-I prefer you naked. - He smiled mischievously at her who just kissed his neck.
Aemond gave Y/n a white shirt and watched with a slight smile as she got dressed, then he put on just a pair of black sweatpants and went towards her again.
-Let's eat something? - He asked smiling at Y/n who agreed instantly with a smile.
-I haven't eaten anything since before the party. - She then extended her arms to Aemond with a pout. - My legs are weak, can you carry me?
Aemond just rolled his eyes before picking her up in his arms and lifting her off the ground with ease while Y/n wrapped her legs around his waist.
When he arrived in the kitchen, he placed her on the counter and after a quick kiss on the lips, he went towards the refrigerator, but was interrupted by the incessant ringing of his own cell phone in the room.
-Just give me a minute. - He sighed to Y/n heading towards the bedroom, returning shortly after with his cell phone in one hand and Y/n's silver heels in the other. Aemond smiled and raised his eyebrows as he placed her shoes and his, which had been thrown haphazardly around the room, together on a sideboard near the door.
-Still with an obsession for organization? - She asked, pouting, mocking him.
-Ever. - Aemond approached the counter and bit her lip as he responded, making her sigh.
He looked down at his cell phone and saw hundreds of messages and missed calls, and after that it didn't take long for the doorbell to ring and Aemond looked at the door in confusion, only to remember that the cleaning lady was coming that day.
-Shit. - He went towards the door still wearing only his sweatpants and with his damp hair falling over his shoulders.
-Good morning Mr. Targaryen. - The woman spoke as she was already entering, but Aemond stopped her from going through the door.
-Your services will not be needed today, Mrs. Dancil. - Aemond spoke in a serious voice and before the woman asked questions he continued speaking. - You can take the day off, or clean Aegon's house, whatever you think is best. The woman stared at him blankly as she tried to discreetly look into the apartment through Aemond, and then left without asking any more questions.
After telling the maid to leave, Aemond called the concierge.
-I'm not for anyone today. If anyone asks, tell them that I left for now and haven't come back yet.
Y/n watched him still sitting on the kitchen counter with her legs crossed, biting her lower lip slightly, while Aemond made another call.
-Good morning Mrs. Mayotte. - Aemond spoke in a polite voice. - Reschedule all my appointments today. Reschedule lunch with the supplier, I don't mind. Put the paperwork on Aegon's desk and say that I told him to stop being lazy and work like everyone else. You can say with these words, I guarantee your job. If anyone looks for me, tell them they don't know my whereabouts. - He hung up the phone and threw it onto the living room armchair.
-I enjoyed hearing your business voice. - She said, swinging her legs in the air, jumping off the counter and walking towards Aemond. - You'll have to talk to me like that later.
Aemond rolled his eyes and pulled her towards him by the waist, placing a tender kiss on her lips.
-I'm all yours for the rest of the day. - He murmured against her lips.
-You are always all my Aemond. -She whispered back with a smile as she slowly brushed her own lips against his.

After exchanging soft kisses, Aemond and Y/n prepared potato rosti, their favorite food throughout their lives.
-You're doing it wrong Aem. You definitely don't add that amount of onion. - Y/n complained, pulling the knife from his hand.
-And since when did you become a culinary expert? - He raised his eyebrows as he looked at her, pouting.
-Since your parents left me five years ago in a conservatory in Old Town. - She rolled her eyes and left a kiss on his chin. - The septas force us to work. Did you know that?
-It must have been horrible. - Aemond mocked.
-ha, ha, ha, you're hilarious. -Y/n faked a laugh while pouring water into the potato pot. - You wouldn't survive two days in that conservatory, Aemond.
-And why not? - He arched his eyebrows in offense as he put the things he wouldn't need back in the fridge.
-Because you, my dear cousin, are the devil. You don't know how to exchange two words with anyone without ironizing the person in the exact way you are doing now. - She said, looking at him with her hand on her hip. - You would live trapped in some punishment.
-And what did you do? - He looked her up and down as he asked. - Since in my experience you are no angel.
-I pretended to obey. I did what they told me. The conservatory isn't that bad after all, I learned a lot of cool things and the teaching program is really good. - She spoke in a monotonous voice while stirring the pot looking away and Aemond realized that she wasn't comfortable talking about the conservatory at that moment.
-But? - Aemond asked, approaching and holding her by the waist, bringing her towards him.
-Don't be cocky. - Y/n rolled her eyes more comfortably while biting Aemond's lower lip and pulling it lightly with her teeth.
-I didn't say anything. - His ironic look said it all.
-I really missed you. - She confessed, looking at him in that way that made Aemond's heart hurt. - Not just having sex, of everything. Being able to talk and stay by your side. You're my best friend Aem, it was horrible being without you.
-I missed you too. - He said putting a lock of her hair back. - Every day.
Suddenly Y/n's gaze changed and when she looked at Aemond again the heat was gone, and now pure anger burned in its place. With the memory of why she went to Cercei Lanister's party.
-Well it wasn't what it seemed since according to all the gossip magazines in the city you should announce your engagement at any moment. - Y/n's voice was hateful when she said that, as if the words were bitter in her mouth.
-What? No! - Aemond opened his eyes wide in shock. - Me and Floris are definitely not getting engaged.
-So there is a you and Floris? - She arched her eyebrows ironically.
-Y/n I don't like Floris, my grandfather and her father think that uniting us could be good for business… - Aemond held her by the shoulders while he said this, as if he was afraid that she would evaporate into thin air, or run away .
-I know you don't like her because you love me. -Y/n's eyes burned with anger as she spoke as she pointed at herself. - But Aemond, if you let that bitch touch you…
-Y/n.. - Aemond started to speak but was immediately interrupted.
-And don't you dare lie to me! - She practically growled. - If you let her put her hands on you I will never let you touch my body again and I will kill that bitch and I will feel pleasure from it. -She held Aemond by the shoulders and looked him in the eyes as she spoke, and he could see the jealousy burning through the surface.
-You know I would never let someone else touch me. - Aemond hissed offended, as if the mere idea of being touched by someone other than Y/n disgusted him. - We promised this to each other.
-I told you yesterday that I haven't slept with anyone else since you left! -Aemond placed his palms against the sides of her face as he spoke, looking into her eyes.
-No, you didn't say it! - Y/n moved a few centimeters away from him and the irritation in her voice was palpable.
-I think the fact that I came inside you in less than ten minutes in a coat closet in the middle of a party says a lot about it. - Aemond rolled his eyes and threw his head back in annoyance.
-Do you swear? - She questioned him, looking at him with that needy look that made Aemond want to move all the mountains in the world for her, and hypnotized, he approached her again before answering her. - You swear you didn’t touch her the way you touch me?
-With all my heart. - He said, carefully stroking her hair. - I was only with you, just as we promised that night.
-I'm sorry for acting crazy. - She sighed looking at her own bare feet. - But just thinking that that bitch could have put her hands on you makes me…
-I am yours. - Aemond interrupted her by placing her hand over his heart. - Only yours.
-That's just business and company stuff. My mother and grandfather think that if I marry Floris Baratheon I can be chosen as CEO in Rhaenyra's place in the future.
-Marry? - Y/n asked in disbelief and Aemond could see her eyes suddenly shine with tears. - This is what you want? - She asked, looking into his eyes, trying to get away from him again and Aemond could see the feeling of betrayal in her eyes. - Marry Floris Baratheon and become CEO?
-No! - He denied it immediately as he pulled her back towards him, surprising even himself for not caring about anything else other than making her believe him. - I want you, Y/n, only you.
– Do you swear? - She asked, but now with an irritated voice.
-I swear! - He growled against her face without excitement.
-Then end this lie, because I won't share you! - Y/n practically growled as she held Aemond's face tightly between her hands. - She's the other one and not me, she was the one who arrived later trying to steal you from me.
Aemond agreed and kissed her on the lips, he could feel the possessiveness in her kiss, the way she pulled his hair and bit his lips, pulling him more and more towards her, as if she was hungry, as if she needed to prove that he was of hers.
-Give me a week to resolve everything. - He said breathlessly with his forehead touching hers after breaking the kiss. - I promise you that within a week I will get rid of it.
-You're lucky that I love you. - She rolled her eyes and left a kiss on his chin.
After the discussion, the two decided not to talk about Floris Baratheon anymore that day, and after eating they went towards the living room and lay down together on the biggest sofa. The familiarity of it all made Aemond feel like Y/n had left for Old Town five days ago and not five years ago. At that moment nothing mattered to him, the only thing that existed was him and Y/n, how good it was to be by her side and how he wanted to stay that way forever.
-I haven't eaten this since you left. - He said, stroking Y/n's hair gently, and she just smiled and looked at him through her eyelashes, but now in a really innocent way, just love in her eyes. - It felt wrong without you here.
Y/n caressed Aemond's face and ran her hand down the long strands of hair that were now loose.
-You didn't finish telling me how things are here yesterday. - She said caressing his face. - How is Helaena? I wish I had seen her yesterday.
-She has a huge project to save the turtles in Black Water Bay. - He spoke affectionately. - Our father decided to finance it, and now no one can bring disposable objects to the beach anymore. Apart from all the supervision of the beach during breeding periods.
-That's totally like Hel. - Y/n smiled as she imagined her cousin making her dreams of caring for endangered animals come true.
-Speaking of reproduction. - Aemond said, turning to face her and Y/n smiled mischievously. - Were you serious or not last night?
-I was just teasing you. - She rolled her eyes playfully, making herself better comfortable in his lap. - I know you get all crazy and possessive about this pregnancy thing, and I like it when you get like that, I missed it. - Y/n murmured rubbing her lips against his neck.
Aemond felt a mix of relief and disappointment, he knew she was probably joking, but the idea of having a part of him and her mixed together forever made his insides vibrate with joy.
-I want to have a child with you. - He said looking into her eyes and giving her a soft kiss on the lips - You know that.
-Yes, you've been saying that since we were 16 years old. - She smiled melancholic with some memories while steadied herself on his shoulders, looking deeply into his eyes. - I will give you a son, as soon as you marry me as we agreed.
-We're getting married. I promise you. - He said, squeezing her hips and smiling, that same look of pure adoration that he always had when he looked at her making Y/n's heart melt. - Nothing changed.
-I believe in you. - She kissed him softly. - And speaking of children, how is JaeJae?
-Aegon takes him to work almost every day. - Aemond rolled his eyes, laughing. - To be honest, his secretary has more work to do with Jaehaerys than with paperwork.
-He must have grown so much. - She said, leaning her head on Aemond's chest and smiling, remembering her younger cousin.
-Last week I went to get a report from Aegon's desk and he was sleeping on the couch while Jaehaerys made paper airplanes with the pages of the reports and threw them around the room. - Aemond grumbled, laughing lightly while stroking Y/n's hair.
It was a scandal when Aegon impregnated a model three years older when he was 17. Alicent almost died upon receiving the news, and then almost killed Aegon. Y/n got chills just remembering that day, Aegon running around the house with Alicent behind him throwing things and slapping wherever he could reach.
-How is your mother's mood about this? - Y/n's voice suddenly became slightly tense.
-Oddly enough, she's not so mad anymore. She only hits Aegon twice a week now, if he reduces the amount of alcohol he consumes it could be as much as one slap every Friday. - Aemond tried to lighten the mood by talking about Alicent as he felt Y/n's body become rigid with the subject.
Y/n couldn't help but laugh, her aunt always scared her a little by being very strict, but nothing too serious until that terrible night five years ago. Before that, she was too focused on Aegon to fight too much with her, Aemond, Helaena or Daeron.
-What about Daeron?
-She's still in denial, but she stopped threatening to send him to Old Town with you.
Y/n rolled her eyes, Daeron was gay and Alicent was a crazy, controlling mother who followed the faith of the seven diligently. A combination that would hardly go well.
-First of all, this is archaic, secondly, why was I the only one who ended up in old town? - She looked at him indignantly, making Aemond laugh. - You fucked me, Daeron is Gay, Aegon is Aegon. Why was I the only one who ended up in Old town? That's not fair!
-My mother got it into her head that you are a poisonous viper sent by your father to destroy her children. - Aemond said while looking at the ceiling.
-Why is everything that goes wrong in this family always blamed on my father? -Y/n questioned indignantly, but she couldn't help but feel a pang of pain knowing that was what her aunt thought of her.
-Because your father is your father. He's completely crazy, you can blame hundreds of things on him if you try hard enough. - Aemond stated, rubbing his nose against her neck as he smelled his own scent mixed with hers.
-And Rhaenyra? - Y/n changed her focus when remembering her cousin.
-If we are going to talk about my older sister I will need to call a family therapist. - He spoke in a monotonous voice against her neck and Y/n laughed in a nasal way.
-Rhaenyra isn't that bad. She would bring chocolate every time she came to visit. - Y/n smiled at the memory, the expensive chocolates that her old cousinbrought always caused fights between her and the other cousins, everyone always wanted to choose first, but she and Aemond always shared theirs. And like a frenzy, Y/n's eyes lit up with an idea.
-Let's have hot cocoa. - She said suddenly excited and Aemond arched his eyebrow looking at the radiant summer sun that came through the window.
-It must be about 30 degrees outside.
Y/n rolled her eyes as she got up and walked towards the thermostat, lowering the air conditioning temperature even further, making Aemond laugh slightly as he laid his head on the back of the sofa.
-Okay, now we will have a pleasant 15° degrees of autumn for a hot cocoa. - She smiled at him, already going towards the kitchen to prepare the hot chocolate while Aemond went towards the bedroom without warning.
When Y/n lifted her head again she saw in his hands a worn navy blue blanket with silver embroidery and couldn't help but give a bright smile as she felt his eyes handling it.
-I can't believe you kept that.
-It's the hot cocoa blanket. - Aemond shrugged smiling and Y/n kissed his cheek as she was flooded with memories. Shortly after Y/n moved in with her aunt and uncle, they went to Driftmark for a weekend to visit Rhaenys, the place was beautiful, but it was cold like Y/n had never felt before. Y/n always thought Rhaenys looked like a hawk, had a smart look and didn't miss anything, but after that weekend she discovered that the woman could be very sweet and affectionate too.
Especially when she covered Y/n and Aemond with that same blanket and made two large cups of hot chocolate for them. And when they left she said they could take the blanket since it was very cold and they both liked it so much.
From then on, the two always drank hot cocoa together when the weather got cold, and they always did it under that blanket that was now old and worn out.
After the chocolate was ready the two sat back down on the sofa covering themselves while they enjoyed the hot drink and smiled at each other, both exchanged soft and warm kisses while caressing each other affectionately.
-I missed you. - Aemond whispered while rubbing his nose against hers, warming Y/n's heart, after they both finished the chocolate.
-I'm never leaving again. - She promised rubbing his nose back. - I promise.
The two were snuggled under the blanket, with Y/n still on top of Aemond as he slowly stroked her scalp as he knew it made her soften.
-How it was? - Aemond finally gained enough courage to ask in a melancholy voice, but almost in a whisper. - Your time in Old town? Do you want to talk about it?
-I hope I never have to go back there again. - She sighed, placing her hand on Aemond's chest. - I learned a lot of things at the conservatory, the teaching schedule there is incredible. - She spoke as if she needed to justify this part so it wouldn't seem so bad.
-But the rest was terrible, we are not allowed to access the Internet in the conservatory, so no chance of any attempt to contact us. -Her voice sounded sad as she played with her fingers looking down. - No movies or series. And books only those pre-approved by the septas.
Aemond arched his eyebrow, sighing and pulling her closer to him. Y/n always loved watching TV more than anyone he knew, to the point where he knew the programming of his favorite channels by heart when they were younger.
-The diet was also very restricted, only healthy foods from a menu prepared by a nutritionist and pre-approved by the septas. No cookies, chocolates, soda and things like that. - She continued speaking and Aemond felt his heart ache when he saw y/n with her shoulders slumped and a sad look on her face.
-I really missed chocolate. - She gave a slight smile, but still with a sad look.
-We'll buy all the chocolate you want as soon as we leave the house. -He spoke seriously, looking at her, making Y/n smile softly as she laid her head again on his chest.
-There are so many rules that I think in five years I haven't memorized them all. - She rolled her eyes. - In the first few days I fought back, didn't obey and thought I was going to get out of there. But it got easier when I just started pretending to obey. - Y/n sighed against Aemond's chest, hugging him. -At least they didn't give me excessive work as punishment anymore.
-They wanted me to stay, take the oaths and become a septa. - Y/n lifted her head from Aemond's chest and looked into his eyes. - But I could never do such a thing. Not when I thought about you every day and the moment when I would be of age and could return.
He gently pulled her by the back of her head, tangling his fingers in her hair and kissed her with love and sweetness letting out a sigh when they separated.
Aemond's heart hurt hearing Y/n say all those things, knowing what she had to endure to be there again, his beautiful girl deserved much more than being trapped in a place like that. And Aemond promised himself that he would never let anyone take her away from him again.
-There wasn't a day that went by that my heart didn't burn and cry out for your presence. - He stroked her cheeks lovingly using his fingertips. - You are like a sparkle of love and joy in my life.
The smile that appeared on Y/n's lips when she heard him say those words almost took his breath away, and he knew that no one would ever make him feel that same feeling.
Y/n was like a vice for Aemond. And away from the exhibition he managed, at least for a while, to pretend to everyone around him that he wasn't completely and utterly addicted to it. And now entangled with his cousin again, he knew there would be no second chance. His body and mind had already been exposed again, and he was too high on her to make any decision other than being together forever.
He had made his choice when he took her home again and ran away from all obligations just to be there, with her body pressed against his, and Aemond knew that this time he would be strong enough, he wouldn't let anyone separate them.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤenglish is not my first language.
Lucerys’ big, blue eyes were staring at you as you read through his latest English test trying to see and correct the things in which he had failed. Jacaerys had asked you to help him with his studies after their mother threatened to ground him if he came home with another bad grade. In return for your work, he would do the dishes for you for an entire month; and you couldn't say no to that.
“Alright, a C+ is not terrible, but it can be better if you really put effort into studying,” you advised him. “You're a smart kid, you can definitely get an A+.”
“It’s so hard for me, there's too many concepts. I don't even know what a funnel introduction is,” he murmured, bumped out.
“It's fine, Luke, I'll help you study for your next test and you'll get at least a B+, I promise,” you said, smiling softly at him.
For a moment he just stared at you, being completely silent as he placed his chin on his hand while leaning on the table. You lifted your eyebrow and your smile slowly started to disappear.
Oh, gods, not again.
“You have a beautiful smile, you know?” he suddenly said, taking you by surprise and making you remember his little crush towards you.
“You need to stop trying to flirt with me, Luke,” you warned him. “I'm too old for you.”
“It was just a compliment,” he shrugged.
“Luke…” you said his name with a scolding tone.
“It is!” he assured you.
“Well, then thank you. That's very sweet of you.”
The main door opened just when you finished talking, Aegon was soon walking inside the loft with his hands holding at least five bags, each filled with the groceries for the month. You excused yourself before standing up and going to help him.
Things, surprisingly, were not awkward at all anymore. You were grateful for that, knowing that all your business with Aegon was now forgotten since what happened a few days ago. You both agreed, however, that you would not say anything to the rest of the guys, just so they wouldn't get the wrong impression. You were pleased, though, because now your relationship with Aegon was better, and you knew he trusted you a tiny bit more now. You were happy about it, too.
“Want some help with that?” you asked as you tried to grab some of the bags.
Aegon immediately shook his head, telling you it was okay as he moved the bags away from your hands, even when he seemed to be struggling a bit.
“Don’t worry about it,” he breathlessly said. “There's a sad, hot girl looking for you out there, you should probably go and see what's that about.” He walked past you and left you standing right in the middle of the hall.
You watched him enter the kitchen and leave the bags on the floor before he went to the fridge and drank orange juice straight out of the bottle. You sighed before you curiously peaked to the entrance only to find your best friend standing there with her backpack hanging from her shoulder. Her eyes were red — it seemed as if she was crying the whole way there, her lower lip was quivering as she held back her sobs.
“Baela?” you asked as you walked towards her, wrapping your arms around her as she laid her head on your shoulder, weeping against your shirt. “Hey, babe, what's wrong? What happened?”
“Garett and I fought today,” she sobbed, “It was bad, I took my thing and I left.”
Your hands went to her hair, your fingertips soothingly caressing her head as you comforted her. “It’s okay,” you cooed, grabbing her face and wiping her tears away with your thumbs. “Let's go talk in my room, alright? Come on.”
Baela obediently nodded as you guided her through the loft with your hand on her lower back. Aegon gave you a confused look and you just shrugged as a response. He followed you with his eyes until you disappeared around the corner and were out of his sight.
“How did you know the address?” you questioned, curiously.
“You sent it to me when you came for the first time just in case they would kidnap you or murder you,” she explained as she sniffed.
“Oh, right…” you muttered.
“It's a really nice apartment, you were lucky to find it.”
“I know, and it's quite cheap too.”
“I can't believe there's three men living here-”
All of the sudden, Jace walked out of his room; his sleepy face and swollen eyes would be proof enough to know that he had just woken up. However, what actually caught your attention was the way his body froze when he laid eyes on Baela, and also the way that she stiffened up when she saw him standing in front of her. His eyes widened as his lips slightly parted in what seemed to be a silent gasp.
“Baela…” he murmured. Suddenly you felt invisible.
“Hi,” she said in a sigh. You frowned, confused.
Standing there between them, you found yourself being taken aback by their reaction, about the way they looked at each other as if their breaths were caught up in their throats. You glanced at Baela, then at Jace, trying to find some explanation to this awkward situation, but you found nothing more than sparkling eyes in them.
“What- Did I miss something?” you asked, interrupting the moment and feeling Baela's stare falling on you.
“No,” Jace quickly replied. You could almost see him blushing. “Nothing happened.”
“Weren't we going to your room?” Baela turned to tell you, and you nodded. “Alright, let's go then.”
You resumed your path towards your room, and as soon as you crossed the door, Baela closed it behind her back. Suddenly, all traces of sadness were now replaced by something new; nervousness, perhaps. You sat on your bed staring at your friend who was now looking at you with widened eyes. You were beyond confused, filled with questions and doubts that needed to be answered before your mind would explode.
“Listen,” she started.
“I think there is a big elephant in the room right now.”
“There's a lot to unpack.”
“I can tell,” you replied. “You know Jace, don't you?”
“I do,” she nodded. “I actually know him very well. Very well.”
You stopped for a second. “How well?”
“Remember my time in Dragonstone as a camp counselor?”
Oh Gods.
“Yes…” you muttered, unsure of whether you wanted to hear the rest of the answer or not.
“Remember what happened during that summer?” she questioned, surprisingly shy.
“I do.”
“Well, it was Jacaerys,” she confessed.
Your eyes widened as you heard her saying it and confirmed it as if it wasn't breaking news, then your mouth dropped. A gasp escaped from your lips as you stood up from the bed and walked towards her.
“Shut up!” you said out of surprise. “It was Jace? That Jace?”
There was a moment of silence before Baela nodded and said, “uh… yes.”
“What?!” you yelled.
“Babe, keep it quiet, please,” she whispered.
“I thought Jace was a virgin,” you confessed, talking in loud whispers, still in shock.
“I can assure you that he's not.”
You covered your mouth as you saw her getting flustered by the situation. The whole thing with her boyfriend, and whatever had happened between them two, had been quickly forgotten by you two, because now you were trying to make sense of how small the world really was.
“I can't believe this!” you exclaimed.
“Well, imagine my situation,” Baela said, scandalized. “I just found out that, out of the billions of people in the world, my best friend is living with the guy that took my virginity during summer camp!”
“It's kinda romantic, though,” you confessed. Baela noticed the dreamy look on your eyes as you spoke; she was already used to it. “Maybe it's destiny.”
“You're insane,” she chuckled.
“Just imagine, Baela! What are the odds?”
“I'm dating Garett!”
“You were crying because of him a few minutes ago!” you reminded her. “What did that douche do anyway?”
Baela took a deep breath, rolling her eyes as she remembered everything. You knew a part of her was slightly embarrassed to tell you, only because she knew you would say ‘I told you so’. She was too stubborn to admit she had been wrong about him all this time.
“He got jealous because he went through my phone and found a picture I took with a friend from work,” she explained.
“He went through your phone?” you repeated, widening your eyes. “Gods, Baela, what are you waiting to break up with him?”
“I don't know!” she replied in despair. “Maybe I love him too much.”
“Whatever you two have going on, I can assure you that it's not love. You deserve better than him, and you know it.”
“I will break up with him… some day,” she promised, doubting. “But now, I need a place to stay tonight because I can't go back to my apartment if he's there. Can you help me with that?”
“Of course,” you immediately replied, “you can stay as long as you want.”
“Thank you,” she sighed.
“Though he should be the one looking for shelter,” you couldn't help but to speak up. “It's your apartment.”
“I know, but I'm doing what I can, alright? I feel like there's a lot of shit going on right now. Can't we just drink our weight in booze?”
“I- I don't know, babe,” you slowly said, “I have a bunch of papers to grade and next class we'll revise them and-”
“Hey, it's okay,” she shrugged, “Maybe one of those guys will make me some company.”
A soft knock was heard and soon Aegon opened the door of your room. He was looking tired and uninterested as usual. Baela crossed her arms in front of her chest, looking at him up and down. Aegon didn't even notice such a gesture, because all his attention was on you.
“I brought pizza from the supermarket,” he informed you. “They’re getting out of the oven, so come and have dinner. You can also come, if you want,” he spoke to Baela, finally glancing at her.
“We'll be there in a minute,” you replied.
Aegon left as quickly as he arrived, and your attention returned to your friend, who was arching one of her eyebrows.
“What?” you asked.
“Nothing…” she shrugged, but her tone made you a bit suspicious. “Shall we go now? Crying makes me hungry.”
“Alright, let's go… I'll introduce you to Aemond.”
She grabbed your hand and you guided her through the hall until you were back in the dining room. Lucerys looked up from his plate and his mouth fell as he saw Baela walking confidently towards the table. One single glance at him and you sighed relieved to know that his crush towards you was now replaced by his crush towards Baela.
Aemond —who was wearing a kitchen apron and had his long silver hair in a bun— also appeared with two pizzas in his hands, being followed by Jacaerys who carried one. As they put them on the table, you cleared your throat trying to make them acknowledge your presence in the room.
They both stood still as they saw her.
“Aemond, Luke,” you started, “this is my best friend Baela. She'll be staying with us tonight if that is not an issue.”
“Of course not.” Aemond stepped in, removing the oven mitts from his right hand and stretching it to reach hers. “I'm Aemond Targaryen,” he introduced himself with a soft smile as he brought her hand towards his lips and left a kiss there.
Jacaerys rolled his eyes.
“How chivalrous,” Baela commented, pleased with that small interaction.
“Shall we take a seat now?” you proposed, going to your usual spot.
“Where do I sit?” Baela asked.
“Wherever your ass fits, but not in my chair,” Aegon suddenly said, appearing out of nowhere and taking his seat in the spot right next to you.
You gave him a bad look as he sat down.
“You can sit beside Aemond.” You pointed at the empty chair right next to him. Baela did what you said and smiled at him politely.
A quick glance at Jacaerys and you noticed how his jaw slightly clenched and how his eyes would, occasionally, look at them. You narrowed your eyes, noticing there was something going on there probably related to what you had just found out.
“Well, can we start eating now?” Aegon asked. “I'm fucking starving.”
Without waiting for an answer, he took a slice of the pizza and opened his mouth to eat almost half of it in a single bite. Aemond looked at him as if he was scolding him for his terrible manners, but you could only giggle at that.
“Do you guys happen to have beer?” she curiously wondered, staring at Aemond. “I'm in need of some.”
“There's a couple in the fridge, and-”
“No, no. Those are mine, I bought them,” Aegon interrupted.
His lips were covered by stains of tomato sauce, and you gave him a napkin so he would clean himself. He quickly took it and cleaned his mouth.
“Aegon, she's a guest,” Aemond said.
“And?”
“And you need to be polite.”
“I'm sharing my pizza with all of you, I think I'm being polite enough,” he argued as he pointed at the three pizzas on the table.
“I can go and buy some beer,” Jacaerys suddenly offered, “uh… there's a store around the corner, I can grab some beers for you.”
“That's so thoughtful, Jace,” Baela thanked him.
“You guys need to be careful,” you warned them.
“Why?” Jace questioned.
“It's just that your brother is here, and he is a minor-”
“I’m sixteen,” he quickly replied.
“Which means you have to wait two more years to legally drink,” you reminded him.
“Listen, it's my free night, and I don't want to listen to music or smell a beer tonight,” Aegon groaned, interrupting the conversation.
“No one is inviting you to join, Aegon,” Jace murmured.
You gave him a bad look. “Don't be mean.”
Of course no one noticed, but Aegon looked down at his lap just so he would hide the faint rose blush that appeared on his cheeks.
“Y/n will be busy tonight, so maybe you guys can give me some company,” she proposed to Aemond and Jacaerys, who immediately nodded.
“Can I be there too?” Luke asked.
“As long as you stay away from the alcohol,” Baela told him.
“Fine,” he sighed.
“Then you can join us,” she cheerfully said.
An hour was all they needed to create their own personal little pub. You were in your room, the door closed and your eyes feeling tired from reading so much - especially when you had to almost guess what the poorly written words were. The weariness was starting to show as you would continuously jawn and rub your eyes, trying to stay focused on your task.
You saw the clock. 11pm. As you listened to the faded music coming from the living room, you missed the days when you were able to stay awake until sunrise. Perhaps you were getting old.
Or maybe you just needed coffee.
The pen in your hand dropped as you stood up, stretching your limbs and sighing while you put on your comfy slippers. You left your room and rushed into the kitchen, finding Jace staring at Aemond and Baela sitting on the couch. He looked dissociated, as if his mind was giving him a thousand thoughts in a second, and even when you saw him distracted, you asked him:
“Where are the coffee pods?”
Jacaerys’ eyes wouldn't even dare to leave Baela. You would notice how he was nervously tapping the kitchen counter and biting his lip. It was quite obvious that he didn't even hear a word of what you've just said.
“How long have you known her?” He suddenly asked.
“Who? Baela?” you spoke as you looked into the drawers.
“Yes,” he said as he finally turned around to look at you.
“She's been my best friend since sixth grade, why- Oh, here they are,” you mumbled once you found what you were looking for.
You grabbed the coffee pod and put it in the coffee machine, waiting next to it for the cup to be filled.
“So you know,” he assumed. “Of course you do, she's your best friend.”
“What do I know?”
“That we- you know…” he shyly said. “Summer Camp, Dragonstone… uh, sex.”
“Well, she just told me, actually…” you confessed. “I mean, I knew how she lost it, but she never told me the name of the guy, so I didn't know you two had met before. Also, you've never mentioned anything about that camp before, so...”
“Gods, she looks even more beautiful than I remembered,” he said with a shy smile, looking at Baela and then back at you. “Shit, she's here and my hair looks hideous, I don't know why I cut my curls off, I feel like Samson.”
“You look fine, Jace.”
“Yeah, you say that to Aegon everyday, how can I believe you?”
You were about to open your mouth and say that you actually meant it each time you would say that to Aegon, but, somehow, admitting that information made you feel embarrassed. You just decided to change the subject before the silence turned into an awkward one.
“Listen, you do you, I'll be in my room-”
“Wait, no,” he interrupted you. “You need to stay here.”
“Why?”
“Because I don't- How am I supposed to get close to Baela if you're gone?” He asked you, widening his eyes with panic.
“The same way you did when you first met her, isn't it easy?”
“You have to understand,” he said, looking deadly serious. “17 year old me, is not the same person as 22 year old me. I've grown weak.”
“Find that inner 17 year old you,” you shrugged, as you started to slowly walk away. “Best of luck, my friend.”
You walked out of the kitchen with the cup of hot coffee in your hand. As you passed by the living room, you gave a threatening look to Luke who was too close to the beers in the center table. As a response, he lifted his hands in a gesture of innocence, and looked at you with those blue, puppy eyes. You sighed, resuming your way towards your room and humming the song that was playing back in the living room.
Once you returned, it was a complete surprise to see Aegon laying on your bed with his computer on his lap and a bowl of chips on his side. He was shoeless, in his pajamas, looking so comfortable that you even thought for a small second that you accidentally entered his room instead of yours.
“What are you doing here?” you asked, as you walked towards your desk and left the coffee cup there.
“I'm watching a movie and they aren't letting me listen because their music is too loud,” he explained.
“Why don't you use subtitles?”
He scoffed, “I'm watching a movie, not reading a fucking book.”
“Aegon, you need to stop appearing in my room,” you mumbled. He paused his movie, sitting up on the bed. “Last time was a disaster.”
“I won't be a bother to you, I swear it. I'll be quiet and let you do your thing,” he told you, looking at you with his puppy, lilac eyes. You couldn't say no.
“Fine,” you mumbled, sitting in your chair before you resumed your work. “Keep the volume down too, please.”
“Alright,” he said, and each started to focus on your own thing.
You gave him one last look before you turned around and grabbed your pen. The music was muffled thanks to the thickness of the walls, and all you could hear was the soft voices of the actors coming out of Aegon's computer. It was quite relaxing, there was no awkward silence or anything as such. It felt comfortable and nice.
His presence felt nice.
Suddenly, you heard him laughing out loud, and it was contagious enough to make you smile, distracting you from your work. You turned around only to see him covering his face with one of your pillows, somehow you thought it was cute.
“What are you watching?” you asked as you stood up and sat on your bed next to him.
“Pineapple Express,” he said between giggles, still laughing at one of the scenes.
“Can I watch too?”
“I thought you were busy working,” he replied, looking up at you.
You sighed, “yeah, you’re right.”
Aegon looked at you for a few seconds before pausing the movie and sitting up.
“You look stressed,” he pointed out. “Want some help with whatever you're doing?”
“Would you help me?” you asked, incredulously.
“Yeah, why not? I wanted to be a teacher when I was little,” he confessed, “until I realized I was supposed to go to university to do it.”
“You haven't gone to university?”
“I have, actually,” he nodded as he spoke. “My father forced me to go. I never finished it though, I dropped out.”
“What program?”
“Business administration,”
“Was it fun?”
“The most boring shit ever,” he replied, and you chuckled.
He looked at you as you laughed, and a small —almost nonexistent— smile appeared on his face. It was an involuntary gesture.
“Why did he force you to study something you didn't want?” you curiously asked.
You knew that perhaps you were overstepping a line, but it was the first time he ever said something about him to you, and you were craving to know more. You just couldn't help it.
“Alright, what is this? A fucking interview?”
“Oh, come on!” you insisted. “I've seen you naked already, remember? I know more of you than Aem and Jace.”
“Bold of you to assume they haven't seen me naked yet,” he chuckled. “Will you want help with those hieroglyphics or not?”
“Don't be mean,” you scolded him. “They are just learning how to properly write.”
“Which grade is it?”
“Third.”
“Amateurs…” he mumbled.
“Stop it, they're kids,” you giggled.
“No excuse.”
“Alright, I'm gonna keep going before it gets too late,” you said as you stood up.
Aegon, out of impulse, stretched his hand to grab yours, stopping you from moving away. You turned around, failing to hide your surprise. He seemed unfazed by his own action on the outside, but on the inside he was panicking and desperately wondering why he did that.
“I can help you if you want,” he offered again.
You had to take a second to process it and answer him.
“It's- it's fine,” you shrugged. “You keep watching your movie, don't worry.”
He pressed his lips; an awkward smile.
“Alright,” he said, and let go of your hand.
“Thank you, though.” As you pronounced, Aegon looked back at the screen, almost as if he was suddenly ashamed of looking at you.
You tried to say something, but you just pressed your lips together, sealing them so they wouldn't utter a word. You turned around, and sat back on your chair. For a second you just stayed there, staring at the papers scattered around the desk, and thinking about that sudden gesture that was so odd coming from him.
You couldn't help but to ask yourself whether it was a good idea to have rejected his help, thinking that maybe this would push him away once again.
You were overthinking everything, as usual.
As you turned around, you noticed that Aegon was already with his eyes on you. Nervously, you cleared your throat.
“What?” He asked.
“Uh, what?” you repeated.
“What's wrong with you?”
“What do you mean?”
“You've been staring at your desk without moving for like a minute,” he explained. “Are you suffering a stroke or what?”
“No, I just- uh…”
“What?” he interrupted you.
“You're not mad at me, right?” The suddenness of the question made Aegon chuckle and think it was a joke, but after seeing your serious expression he realized you weren't actually kidding.
“Why would I- Listen, if I didn't get mad at you for seeing me naked, why would I get angry because of this?”
“Actually, you did get mad at me for it,” you murmured.
“Well, I'm not mad at you now, okay? Now chill out.”
“Alright, I'm so-”
“Don't apologize,” he stopped you before you could even finish. Then, he softly chuckled. “Why do you act like that?”
“Like what?”
“Weird.”
“To be honest, the first month here I thought you hated me,” you admit, “sometimes I still do, actually.”
“Nonsense,” he scoffed. “I wouldn't be your friend if I hated you, would I?”
“I'm your friend?” You repeated, widening your eyes with emotion.
Aegon looked at you weirded out, “of course you are, you dumbass. I saw you naked, we live together; I think I had no choice, actually.”
You smiled.
“Well, it's nice being your friend.”
“It is,” he agreed.
Baela suddenly opened the door in a scandalous way. You jumped in your seat, taking all your attention towards her; she wasn't drunk, but she was certainly a bit tipsy. Aegon immediately closed his computer and grabbed his now empty bowl of chips, standing up from your bed.
“Guess the party's over, so I'll go to my room now,” he announced. Some tiny part of you didn't want him to go just yet. You liked having his company. “Good night, y/n.”
“Good night, Aegon,” you sighed.
“Goodnight, Bella.”
“It's Baela,” she corrected him.
“Yeah, whatever.”
He left the room in a hurry as Baela rolled her eyes. Soon, she went to her backpack and took an oversized shirt she used as pajamas, all while staring at you with a subtle smirk on her face.
“What?” you asked.
“You need to tell me what's going on between you and him.” She removed her clothes and put on the shirt.
“What do you mean?”
“Don't play dumb,” she murmured as she went to the bed and laid beneath the covers. “Girl, you have bewitched the guy!”
“What? That's- that's nonsense.”
“Look at the floor, there's a path of his drool all the way from your bed to the door.”
“Baela, he's not- he doesn't do relationships.”
“Oh, but he would definitely do you, you know?” She said imitating your tone.
“Alright…” you muttered, rolling your eyes.
“You need to shoot your shot there, he's hot.” You felt the heat running to your cheeks, and of course she immediately noticed it. You hated that she knew you too well. “Oh my! You're blushing!”
“Baela, that's enough.”
“I can definitely sense a vibe there.”
“There's nothing vibing here.”
“Whatever you say.”
“Just go to sleep, okay?” you groaned, turning towards the desk.
“Goodnight, love,” she said. You could hear her smirk on her voice.
“Goodnight,” you simply said, sighing tiredly.
The thought of Aegon being into you was too far-fetched to be truthful. He had just started to see you as a friend, and even when he saw you naked he didn't try to make a move or make comments about it that would give you sogns of his attraction towards you. In fact, he was rather indifferent about it. On the other hand, even when a part of you thought of Aegon as someone handsome, he wasn't your type at all; too immature, perhaps, it would never work between you two.
You shook your head, weirded out with the mere idea of being thinking about it. At the end of the day, Aegon was just another of your friends… right?

A HOTD au where instead of Laena dying by dragon fire/childbirth, she lives on to give birth to a son, Daemion Targaryen, and her husband mysteriously dies of a burst belly. With her newborn son in her arms, Dark Sister at her hip, her two grieving daughters, and an equally grieving Caraxes claimed by Rhaena, Laena returns to Dragonstone for the funeral of her husband. Queen Alicent and her father, once again appointed Hand, secretly rejoice in the death of their despised foe and brazenly make moves to put Aegon II on the throne. The death of Daemon Targaryen has left Viserys a shell of the man he used to be and Rhaenyra struggles to accept the death of her beloved Uncle and the pressure of her inheritance.
But Laena refuses to cave under grief and uses it to drive her to ensure that her children are well cared for and that Rhaenyra's inheritance remains intact and away from the Greens. But envy and restless hearts threaten her plans and Laena finds herself romantically entangled with yet another dragon of fire.
Outside the towering walls of Dragonstone, the wind raged as if joining Laena in her fury. The sea was foaming under the gleaming moon like a cold caress, the sound a small comfort for Rhaenyra as she wrapped her black cloak tighter around herself. She searched one end of the beach to the other before glimpsing Laena standing with water up to her knees, fingers playing with the Dark Sister's hilt.
Rhaenyra didn’t need to see her expression to know she was furious.
Poor, sweet Rhaena with tears on her cheeks and trembling hands had given Caraxes the command to burn Daemon's body, her family standing in support behind her as Queen Alicent along with her father and brood stood a little ways from the flames, but no one had missed the small smile of triumph in the Queen's eyes or the grim look of satisfaction on Otto's face.
Their happiness and Alicent's constant need to force Rhaenyra into a conversation to offer her false condolences had nauseated her to the point where she practically had fled to the beaches to gather herself and speak to Laena...alone.
Heart in her mouth, Rhaenyra strode over towards her, each step shrinking the vastness that had come in between them. Laena did not turn, watching the waves sweep up on the sand before her, her body tensing with each step Rhaenyra took.
“Laena, I'm sorry,” she blurted. “Please, Laena, you mustn't be alone--”
Laena's shoulders moved convulsively, halting her words. “Let us speak plainly, cousin. My husband, your Uncle, is dead and now the vultures show their brazenness without shame and have even expressed an interest in having Dark Sister given to Aemond who displays nothing but Daemon's worst traits. Surely his mother isn’t blind to his viciousness….” Laena's voice trailed away.
“Laena, I know..,” she murmured. When Laena did not reply, Rhaenyra breathed in the salt wind through her nose to clear her mind. She knew. Everyone knew. She was trying so hard and now Daemon-- “I don't think you do know, cousin.” Laena's silver head whipped around, presenting her with the full extent of her grief and Rhaenyra crumbled at the look of agony on her beautiful face. "I don't think you understand just how far your beloved Hightower will go to make a mockery of your grief and twist it to her advantage. You don't...you don't..." Laena's voice trailed off and her expression twisted in a look of despair as she fell to her knees and sobbed. Rhaenyra dashed forward into the water with her and held the sobbing woman in her arms, two dragons of sea and fire lost in their grief as the waves crashed.
"What is to happen to us now?"
"We protect your crown and our children's rights with Fire and Blood. Daemon is gone, but his progeny lives and I swear by the sea, House Hightower will never be free of his shadow." Rhaenyra barely heard Laena's oath, the wind pushing her curly hair into her mouth. She was dragging it free when Laena crushed her palms to her temples and, looming in, crashed her lips to Rhaenyra's with bruising force, a kiss that Rhaenyra immediately returned. The force of their passion consumed them as the two women embraced under the cold moonlight, a promise on their lips.
By fire and sea.

If the boys had reached the black crown, what would they have done? Tried to escape? Contact Daemon? Or something else?
Making it to Blackcrown (in a scenario where Crayne somehow failed or didn't attempt the kidnapping) would have put them in a dicey spot. It's very far away from King's Landing, and they would have the same problem as at the Gates of the Moon where the rookery would be in the control of the maester there.
So if they want to still contact Daemon, they would have to somehow sneak a raven (which the maester would notice) that can fly to King's Landing and hope that it actually makes it to Rhaenyra (in this case, since Daemon would be at the Stepstones) without suspicion falling on them. There is some risk/reward calculation that they need to do here, though they could once again write the letter from a "mysterious benefactor" perspective to throw suspicion away from two young boys and onto some spy within Blackcrown, should the letter be intercepted.
Escape is thorny because Jon fears that if they prove too much trouble, they'll be killed, and again, they're very far from King's Landing, and Rhaegar's coloring is a huge disadvantage to staying under the radar. Any ship they might try to sneak onto, the captain could just turn them back in to Blackcrown or Oldtown for a reward. Same issue with any merchant caravans passing through that they might try to sneak onto. Lord Bulwer would be under orders to watch them like a hawk, and not let them be seen by too many strangers who might take news back to King's Landing.
On top of all that, there are still forces out there in Essos that are after the boys, especially if Crayne passed along word of their destination. So the most likely outcome would have been a (successful) kidnapping attempt in Blackcrown.
Their best chance would be if Rhea suffered the same accident as before. She was not happy about the Blackcrown plans, so I could see her leaving a message with the maester to pass along to Daemon when he inevitably shows up to try staking his claim of Runestone. On dragonback, he easily makes it to Blackcrown before the Dancing Myr can swing down there for kidnapping attempt #2.
In a super AU where the Essos plot isn't in play and Rhea dies without informing Daemon of anything, the boys likely bide their time for a year or two, gathering coin and allies for a proper escape while playing the part of naive, biddable wards. (Well. Rhaegar manages. Jon...does his best. He's not very good at "biddable.")
Ultimately, they'd probably reach King's Landing and use Rhaegar's knowledge of the Red Keep's secret tunnels to sneak in for an audience with Rhaenyra. Of course, Daemon in this scenario has probably pulled his "marry Laena and visit Pentos in case Viserys is mad about it" maneuver that he does in canon. But hey, they'd get little twin half-sisters out of all this!

𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
𝑰 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑱𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑽𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏! Caring, open-minded, kind and fierce. Jace is a very devoted partner, he wants the best for those he loves, he desperately wants to be the protector. And that's why I think you two would be such a great couple. He would get to understand your mind, your mental illnesses and help you with it.
I was going to ship you with Aegon but I can't get over the fact that he's an actual rapist. So even though he does have positive attributes, he has still treated women horribly.
𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔:
You don't look Valyrian in anyway. So it was a big surprise for your family when you bonded with a dragon.
𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓/𝑨𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚
Intelligence/Wisdom. You've basically trained to be a historian, philosopher, poet, writer, counsellor and an adviser. You're a real asset. Showing that your value wherever you go.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔
To go flying together is one of the best things. It makes you feel even more bonded toward each other and each other's dragons. Jace finds you so incredibly impressive. He's so happy you two are together.
He loves showing you off, your arm in his. Parading you around with the upmost respect.
Jace is a very kind and sensitive soul; you don't see a lot of men like this. Especially Princes who are heirs to the throne.
YOU GUYS DEFINITELY WEAR MATCHING OUTFITS. Or parts of your clothing have similarities. Little dragons embroidered on the neckline, matching rings etc.
You'd always be apart of the council. And whenever someone puts you down, Jace is always your first defender.
"Say something like that again and I will have your tongue."
You have a sort of best friend with banter relationship where you can rely on each other for everything. Sort of like Katniss and Peeta

The fact that you know so many things. You're so intelligent that a lot of people are intimidated by you. It's not usual for someone to be so learned while being so young. But Jace finds it absolutely amazing.
𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅
Baela! She would adore you! You two have similarities and you know you can count on each other. She's loud, brash and bold. You instantly liked her.
𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆
A mix between young Rhaenyra, Aemond and Laena. You have traumas, you've been through difficult times and that's why you act in certain manners. But you have a good heart and want the best for those you love. You are very rebeliious though...
𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒕
In some AU universe, you would have bonded with Syrax. I can just see you two having somewhat similar personalities. And I think you aren't an aggressive person, but when things need to get done - you do 'em. It reminds me of Syrax. And I bet you would put a heart pendant on your dragon... Syrax wears one - so it's a perfect match!

𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
𝑰 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒇𝒐𝒚! Although Draco has had a hard time with the dark side ... and he was on the wrong side. He eventually abandons his prejudiced views and becomes a more compassionate person. So, while he might be challenging at first, with time and effort, he becomes a more supportive and loving partner.
𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔
Half-Blood; Mum's a witch, your Dad is a muggle. This caused great strain on your relationship with Draco. As he knew things you didn't. And he was constantly scared you were going to be hurt.
𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓/𝑨𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚
Along with being top of your classes and knowing more than your year. You can also speak parseltongue, an ability that not many are able to do.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔
You're actually really good friends with Harry Potter! And Draco absolutely hates that ... you've had many arguements over it, but you know Harry is a good person. And you often try to get them to end their feud.
Draco's past experiences have given him a strong sense of determination and resilience. In a relationship, he is willing to face challenges and work through conflicts with his partner. He is committed to finding solutions and building a stronger bond through difficult times.
Draco has this problem of constantly buying everything for you. You're nEVER to use your own money. Even when he's not there, he wants you to use his money rather than your own.
And when he does buy you things, they are always extravagant. Such as: this, this, this and this!
It took a while for him to open up about his emotions. He was always taught to push them down - never reveal them. But you gave him space for him to share his feelings. For him to open up.
You both rely on each other for certain things. And that's why you're such a strong couple. You lift each other up, defend and protect one another.

Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger. Luna loves how you think outside of the box, while Hermione admires how much work you put into your tasks and studies.
𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆
A mix of Hermione, Ginny and Fleur Delacour. You know what you want, you know how you want to be perceived and that is a commendable trait. Not a lot of people know who they want to be. They cannot be self-aware, but you are. And that's incredible (but I know that self-awareness can be absolutely horrible tbh)
𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒕
As Hogwarts allows you to bring pets, you brought along your gorgeous white cat. She has blue eyes (as you can see) and does like going outside but only for a short period of time. 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔:
Immune human that was put in the maze with the girls' group. You understood where the other boys were coming from - you were so close but yet so far from each other.
𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓/𝑨𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚
May it be your mental illness combined with the current state of the world; you can sense when someone is trustable and when they aren't. You know who is good and who is bad (at the core).

Gally has a strong sense of survival and resilience. He can adapt to new situations and is willing to make difficult decisions in order to ensure the safety of the group.
Therefore, you can always count on Gally to save you, even if you don't want him to. There's an inane desire to protect, guard and keep people safe. Especially with you!
Loves holding your hand - does not mind PDA but making out is going too far. You get a lot of wolf whistles when you do kiss out in public. Which both of you hate. But happiness is a spare thing in this world.
Loves seeing you in his clothes; a primal instinct takes over and he knows how much he needs you in his life.
For your birthday, Gally scavenged for weeks, trying to find the perfect present for you - it was dangerous and you thought he was doing a mission for your leader. But no, he was out finding a surprise. He found this.

I couldn't resist after seeing the previous ask 😭 any Baela and Cregan headcanons?
Baela x Cregan Headcanons
Mainly for an AU where, instead of staying at Driftmark and marrying Alyn, Baela hopped on a ship to White Harbor (with Alyn claiming she sailed to Pentos) with the intention of getting to Winterfell.
Warnings for brief mentions of suicidal ideation/ depression in reference to Baela’s regency era behavior
- it takes them a while to find their footing and figure out how to be happy together. A long while. Baelas still in her regency era grief/mental health crisis and he’s not afraid to call her on it and push back. She hides in Winterfell for months in a state of “you’re not my dad/husband you can’t tell me what to do” because he says he’ll give her sanctuary but he won’t marry her. He sees so much of his own grief for Arra in her and won’t let her jump into a marriage to escape the crown’s plans when she’s borderline suicidal and won’t admit it.
- He’s not afraid to sit with her anger, to let her be angry until she finally breaks down because she doesn’t know how else to feel anymore.
- Somehow news reaches KL that she’s in Winterfell and White Harbor sends a raven warning them that there’s a group including a member of the small council a day or two out, likely to bring her back by force or to insist she marry someone among the group then and there at Winterfell. As soon as they get the news he offers to send her to hide at Bear Island until she finds a new plan, but she refuses to retreat. Dragons do not flee, she insists, have you ever seen a dragon guard a hoard of gold?
- they marry before the group arrives and she sits smug and grinning at the high table the next morning when they arrive, unable to do anything about her status.
- it takes a long time for love to form there, but they’re not unhappy about being with each other once they’re married. They get along well, inside their bedchamber and out.
- they go riding in the wolfswood and hunt a lot, she loves horse racing and he buys her a new one bred to be faster than any of his.
- Rickon reminds her of Vis, which brings her tears of first, but she grows fond of them. She thinks a lot about how she was meant to be his mother in law, not his stepmother.
- she struggles mentally when she’s pregnant because it’s not supposed to be like this. She’s meant to be on Dragonstone with Jace and maybe Rhaena and not in the frozen north, dragonless, fatherless, motherless.
- Cregan has his suspicions when she’s pregnant and is right when she has twins. She offers to name them good northern names but he immediately insists otherwise, that her kin deserve to be honored. Jacaerys and Lucerys, there is no hesitation in him to offer her this, and it’s that that cracks open her heart and starts the fall for her.
- the first time she accidentally says she loves him is in the hot springs. She misses being warm, even the steaming baths the maids draw never stay hot enough for her. The combination of the hot spring water and the warmth of his arms around her and the heat of his mouth on her neck causes the words to slip out. He pretends not to hear, he knows her well enough to know she’ll push him away if she feels exposed and vulnerable.
- the first time she says it for real is after Alyssa is born (Rhaena already has a Rhaenys and a Laena by then) and he says it back then. She doesn’t push away, she doesn’t need to.
- even before they love each other, they always share a bed. She complains she’s too cold without him, but he says she just likes to ambush him in the mornings and make him late for meetings with his lords. Which she does and she has no intention to stop.
- they break a bed once. Not even while having sex though they’re literally joking around and slightly drunk and she pushes him towards it and he sits down a little too hard and the (albeit weakened over time) bedframe just snaps. Baela likes to joke that she’ll find a better way to break it next time, Cregan’s up for that challenge-

Sea Dragon Queen
Pairing: Alicent Hightower x Rhaenyra Targaryen. Many more to come in future chapters.
Word count: 2.1k
Summary: An AU where Targaryens have braincells <3 they still have their flaws and prejudices, but not to dynasty-ending levels. No Dance, Rhaenyra never marries Laenor because Corlys has the sense to not marry off his clearly gay son. A fix it fic, if you will. I hope you'll enjoy it <3
Content warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, No Archive Warnings Apply
Author's note: This is my first fanfiction and non-academic writing I've done since like 2009, so please be kind to me! English is also my second language.

Read on Ao3
Rhaenyra I
112AC
“I intend to marry… the Lady Laena Velaryon” the king said in a quiet, clear voice, “though not a day before her fifteenth nameday”.
Ser Otto did his best to conceal his astonishment. All his efforts thwarted, his daughter’s reputation soiled to no avail. “A wise choice, my king. In these times of peril and uncertainty from the east, a strong alliance with Driftmark is paramount. The Hand is ready to steadfastly support the Crown in all his endeavors.” There he is, ready to ingratiate himself further into my father’s graces despite his defeat, ever the cunning politician, she thought with irritation. Rhaenyra found it difficult not to laugh at just how predictable Ser Otto Hightower was. If only her uncle Daemon were here, to share this moment with her!
At the opposite end of the table, Lord Corlys looked as if he had just won a naval battle, been granted a son, and triumphed in cyvasse all at once. There is scarce a happier man in all of King’s Landing, Rhaenyra thought. She did not yet know whether she felt happy or anxious at the prospect of a stepmother younger than herself, and so soon after her own lady mother’s death. The time for sorting out my feelings will come later, she told herself, making an effort to steady her face. Rhaenyra looked at Alicent, but her friend’s countenance might as well have been a porcelain mask.
“My King, allow me to express my gratitude and happiness for honoring my House with your choice”, the master of ships stated in a glad tone, rising from his seat. “The centuries-old alliance between the last two pillars of Old Valyria will thrive once more. If I may be allowed to make a suggestion… there is not the slightest need for you to defer the wedding, Your Grace. I must confer with my lady wife on this matter, but I believe it is best that the preparations for the union begin at once”.
A gleaming black raven quorked loudly three times while perching on the red sandstone parapet. His piercing, jet-black eyes met Rhaenyra’s, sending an odd feeling down her spine. Grand Maester Mellos chuckled just in the right moment, as was often his way, preventing anybody else from speaking. He was a weathered veteran of a thousand small council sessions, after all. “It is the solemn belief of the Maesters of the Citadel that in order for a marriage to be fruitful, it ought not take place when the bride is too young to bear healthy heirs. The Lady Laena is but a girl of twelve, and I find it most judicious that His Grace elected to delay the wedding for three years.”
Rhaenyra swallowed quietly, trying to hold back her tears. The name of Aemma Arryn seemed to hang in the room and on everyone’s lips, yet none dared speak it. It has only been a few moons since the queen’s passing, and King Viserys’s enduring grief was plain for all to see. He flustered at the maester’s polite words, instantly brought back to the distant, sunny day at the Eyrie when he was but a young man of sixteen, wedded at Queen Alysanne’s instigation to a surpassingly beautiful girl not much older than Laena herself. Rhaenyra felt she could almost read the thoughts in her father’s mind at that moment. He will always love mother best of everyone, she thought. Even more than herself, though it did not wound her. Her late mother was the gentlest creature House Targaryen had yet seen, and she knew all the love and honor in the world would not be enough to match her merits. Despite her younger age, she had made him and molded him into the man he was, for better or for worse, everyone in her family said. She felt a heavy, choking feeling in her chest at the sudden understanding that it was his affection for his dead wife and the child-bride she had been to defer the marriage the realm so desperately needed. Maybe this is his apology to her in a way, Rhaenyra thought. He says, look Aemma, I must do my duty, but I will always love you. I will always honor your memory, in everything that I do.
Ser Otto’s voice broke her out of her reverie.
“As much as I value and respect any maester’s opinion, here is where I must disagree” he protested. Rhaenyra felt as if she could say his next words herself, so little a surprise they were for her. “The realm urgently needs a queen to provide the king with further heirs as soon as possible. Much as young Lady Laena Velaryon surely is, she is of Targaryen blood and will certainly do her duty splendidly. I propose the wedding takes place within a moon’s turn, or else as soon as the preparations can be completed.” Ser Otto finished his speech with the ludicrous confidence of a man who has the matter well at hand. He looked as if he were about to order Alicent’s wedding gown right where he sat. He means for little Laena to die in childbirth not having reached her fourteenth nameday, and for Alicent to take her place instead, Rhaenyra thought angrily.
The king listened to his Hand’s advice with a blank expression. What he said next surprised not only Ser Otto.
“Nevertheless, this is a matter where I resolve to be firm. I respect my future wife too much to bargain with her health and safety. This meeting is at an end.” Viserys rose from his seat at the head of the table, sending the rest of his small council to their feet. In his haste Lord Lyman Beesbury sent his gold-and-onyx council egg scuttering to the floor. “Apologies, my lords” he breathed, trying to recover his symbol of office from beneath the table, but Ser Harrold Westerling was ahead of him, restoring the sphere to its rightful place. The councilmen withdrew from the room one by one. Lord Corlys and King Viserys moved to the latter’s private apartments to discuss the upcoming nuptials and the crown’s response to the trouble in the Stepstones. Alicent meekly followed her visibly discontented father, her gaze firmly set on the floor beneath her. Rhaenyra wanted more than anything to take her into the godswood and talk for hours about the events of the day as they so often did, but she sensed that would have to wait. Her friend walked away sparing not a single glance for her, already engaged in a conversation of sharp, quiet whispers with Ser Otto. She felt a pang of pity towards Alicent. I would give much for her to be daughter to any other man in the realm, she thought. Rhaenyra was the last to depart the small council chamber, her feet unconsciously leading her toward the Dragonpit and Syrax.
The following days and weeks upended Rhaenyra’s world upside down. One by one, reluctantly, as if the king feared her dragon-temper, the startling news reached her, by way of Septa Marlow and Ser Criston Cole and Annara and other servants whose names she did not know, anybody but her father. She was to be fostered at Driftmark and henceforth divide her time equally between the court and High Tide; Alicent was not permitted by the Hand to go with her as her companion; Laenor Velaryon was to serve as the king’s squire and second cupbearer when she was not present; her uncle Daemon was to lead the Royal Fleet alongside Lord Corlys and Princess Rhaenys into the Stepstones as soon as the troops and supplies for war were prepared. On top of that, when the war was done, it was decided Rhaenyra and Laena were to go on a royal progress throughout the realm, from the Arbor to Winterfell, the two queens to be. It was as if the gods themselves were unsure whether the death of Queen Aemma did not send Rhaenyra a strong enough message that her childhood was at an end. Now was the time to enter the dangerous world of politics and diplomacy, one that Rhaenyra only knew by proxy.
“Perhaps it will be better for you”, said Alicent softly one warm spring afternoon, as they were luxuriating in their favorite spot beneath the weirwood tree, “You will get out of this place, all of these intrigues, whereas I am stuck here as long as my father can keep his chain of Handship. You will see High Tide and the world beyond King’s Landing. And the people will receive an opportunity to see their future queen. I’m sure they will come to love you in no time.”
“Just as you have?” asked Rhaenyra teasingly, planting a soft kiss upon her friend’s cheek. Her skin immediately took on a very pretty pink color. ”I do not mind the travel. In fact, I think it will do Syrax good to stretch her legs and work for her next meal, she has grown rather spoiled as of late. What I do mind is that none of this is my choice. It was not even discussed by the small council at any length. Septa Marlow said that it was all decided by my father and Lord Corlys after the betrothal was agreed upon.”
“And if you were given a choice, you’re certain you wouldn’t have chosen exactly this? You’ve always spoken about wanting to see the wonders across the narrow sea. Well, think of it as the next best thing. You’ll see the wonders across the Blackwater Rush”. They both laughed. For all her love of romance and books, Alicent had a charming way of making Rhaenyra laugh in the most unexpected moments.
“What good can those wonders do to me if I don't have my dear Alicent next to me to tell me their histories? Do you remember when we were walking through the Kingswood a few years ago, during this royal hunt or other, and you corrected our septas repeatedly about the history of the forest? Something about an Andal warlord who vanquished a First Man king there millenia ago? The poor woman got it completely confused with the Faith Militant uprising. How red her face was!”
“Well, septas are not exactly educated to be solemn historians, their duty was foremost to look after us and safeguard our reputation. And you really were very rude and impertinent that day. Septas work very hard, you know” Alicent said with a sweet smile, but Rhaenyra could see that she was flattered to be complimented on her knowledge and intelligence, but her impeccable Hightower breeding would not allow her to disparage sworn members of the Faith. “Besides, I’m sure you will have plenty of people around you to relay you the histories of the various castles and towns you’ll be visiting. Multiple times, even.”
Rhaenyra sighed with irritation. “Yes, I’m sure I’ll be very entertained while various men who’d never met me before will try to charm their way into wedding me. Those men won’t fawn over me. They only want my name and my Valyrian blood for their offspring!” She threw away the three blades of fresh grass she’s been braiding with annoyance.
“Well, I think it’s rather romantic,” Alicent said dreamily, looking into the far distance. She looked her most beautiful in such moments. “It is rare for girls in this realm to get a choice between two suitors, no less two score of them. To have one’s favor sought during tourneys, name made immortal in songs sung by countless bards, to be able to choose the bravest and comeliest of the knights in the lists, to be made the lady of his hearth and home…”
“Yes, yes,” Rhaenyra said impatiently. “I am very lucky to be able to make my choice. You’ve made your point very clear. I am very lucky to live the life I do, with an indulgent father and a kingdom for an inheritance. I know.”
Alicent smiled both sweetly and slyly, now assured she drove her point home and made her beloved friend understand her unusual privilege. “But?”
“But I wish things were… I don’t know, different! I wish I was permitted to see uncle Daemon again. I wish I didn’t have to think about my suitor’s castle size or the number of his armies when choosing a husband. I wish I didn’t have to tour every corner of the realm to make the lords of the realm accept me as their future ruler. My father certainly never did. He’s never been further west than Stonebridge, he told me himself. He was made the future king by the great council and that was the end of it. Why can’t it be the same for me?!”
“Because you are a woman and King Viserys is a man,” Alicent said calmly.
“Yes,” Rhaenyra agreed bitterly. “Because I am a woman and he is a man”.

On the theme of Laenor living, what if the whole Dragonstone/Driftmark polycule is still kicking when Viserys dies? (Because in the book at least, I'm convinced that at least Rhaenyra had arrangements with both Harwin and Laena/Daemon, and who's to say Laenor didn't have his own with Harwin and/or Daemon?)
oooo good question.
so this goes similar to the “laena lives au” i talked about a few weeks ago (i think?) (can’t fucjing find it of course), where rhaenyra is in much better shape because a) she still has vhagar and b) she still has her husband as a shield. if we take out harwin’s death as well, this either means no one ever set the harrenhal fire, or only lyonel died in it, or even that it WAS set but they survived, and that gives her a powerful ally in the riverlands, somewhere she needs a little push due to the infighting in house tully. okay bullet pointing here-
aemond keeps his eye, but not only is harwin not sent away, rhaenyra herself is not sent away - remember, in show canon she leaves on her own but in book canon, viserys bars her from the capital to keep alicent happy (number one mistake viserys makes, and also, this is what i point to when people say she's entitled or spoiled. bruh she's literally barred from making allies at court by her father!!)
this means rhaenyra is likely splitting her time between dragonstone & the capital. there’s still a lot of ways that a fight can occur but i think it’s much less likely something as violent as the driftmark brawl happens. without that catalyst to really entrench everyone in their own spaces, there’s an interesting political shift that could happen.
we don’t get an exact read on lyonel and his feelings towards rhaenyra. in the show, he’s clearly scared for harwin’s life but like. does he hate rhaenyra for putting harwin at risk? does he want to get close to the velaryon boys? does he think this whole situation is way too risky for him to possibly benefit from? for example, does he suggest viserys let him go back to being master of laws or even let him leave the council in favor of naming laenor and/or rhaenyra as hand or master of laws? because this opens the door for rhaenyra to REALLY gain a foothold in the capital - AND imo, it gives her an excuse to move daemon & laena into dragonstone by naming daemon as her steward while she’s on the small council, and she would have lyonel to thank for that.
regardless of lyonel’s actions, it’s just objectively better that he remains on the small council as hand over otto because then the small council isn’t being stacked with greens. for all he's a bit of an enigma, lyonel isn't actively trying to sabotage rhaenyra. HOW those empty positions get filled is kinda murky - if lyonel is allowed to do it, i imagine he’s genuinely finding people suited for the job, which means master of ships is likely a manderly or velaryon, which is good for rhaenyra. for master of laws, i have no idea but i doubt it’s jasper wylde which again, better for rhaenyra. no way in fuck cole gets to just sit on the damn council.
it’s kinda tricky to ensure the entire polycule remains intact for seventeen years (seven years with one husband, a decade with the other is the timeline iirc) because i think, without the driftmark brawl, criston & alicent do something similar to what they do in the show, which is purposefully spark harwin’s ire re: the boys to get him sent from the capital. so even if we assume harwin & rhaenyra have genuine feelings, he doesn’t mind her relationship with laena & daemon, and the velaryons + daemon are all fond of harwin for being rhaenyra’s sword sword and being so loyal, i don’t think he can avoid being sent back home after a certain point.
however, i do wonder if rhaenyra, daemon, laena, or laenor don’t decide to get him a marriage match THEY want him to have - someone loyal to them, someone who won’t spill their secrets. daemon & laena’s girls are wayyy too young even for westeros marriages but there is one potential match here imo - elinda massey.
by the time viserys dies, i imagine the polycule is more of a poly-penpalship. rhaenyra in the capital, daemon & laena at dragonstone, harwin in harrenhal, laenor at driftmark. but if they’ve retained this loyal, romantic relationship between them all, AND rhaenyra is in the capital when viserys dies which allows her to lock down the keep, call daemon & laena to her side, send a message to harwin to gather some men, have her siblings Not Quite Arrested, and aemond doesn’t have vhagar, i mean…..dance OVER lmao, she can take the capital, and if alicent or cole try something, she can have alicent confined and straight up have cole executed.
obviously, there’s pushback here - alicent still doesn’t like or trust her, aemond is still Like That, otto is likely plotting in oldtown, cole still hates her guts, helaena and aegon are probably still having kids, and vaemond is still here. but vaemond’s window of opportunity is minuscule here, with laenor still alive (and unwilling to kinslay for his wife) and the hightowers not in power.
i imagine lyonel gets pushback whipped up by otto from oldtown - regardless of what lyonel does, people may see his actions as covering for rhaenyra to get his blood on the throne. but this is similar to the pushback against maegor, aenys, and early jaehaerys - very contained rebellions that can be headed off with enough dragons & soldiers, and even factoring in rhaenyra’s temper, if she never loses harwin, if the council isn’t stacked against her, if she starts the war already in KL, and with the seasoned warriors like harwin, daemon, laenor, AND corlys on her side, i think she can commit a few war crimes and still keep control of everything lmao.
the main wildcard factor here is the stepstones imo - daemon & corlys are gonna push to really hold it, and if rhaenyra is on the council (or laenor) she’s going to get involved. maybe this goes well, makes her look competent, if she’s smart she settles some people there to gain their loyalty, OR maybe it’s another endless war to get involved in and she looks kinda stupid.
post war, harwin is guaranteed a spot on the council, as is daemon & corlys. harwin has had at least one child, i think it’s not unlikely rhaenyra has at least one more child past joffrey (whether it’s daemon’s or harwin’s lol), i do wonder if daemon & laena don’t have any more children after the issue with baby aegon. both versions of daemon, imo, have some hang ups about death in childbirth, so i don’t think it’s unlikely he just gives up on having a son with laena & settles either for the marriages or even having a bastard with rhaenyra that they say is laenor’s. really playing with fire in that one lmao but when are those two Specifically not doing already doing that. i think they gotta be CAREFUL bc viserys will NOT appreciate her having daemon’s bastard SPECIFICALLY and they risk getting sent back out from the capital. but again, if he’s her steward at dragonstone, i think that keeps him a lil busy & she might be able to fudge a timeline easy enough to Genuinely pass her kid off as Laenor’s which also helps her.
anyways i’m assuming these people are a lot more rational than they are so let’s dig into some likely dumb decisions too-
again, if viserys realizes somethings happening, he’s having a conniption fit and neither daemon nor rhaenyra have ever been one for subtlety. i think the likelihood of her having daemon's kid in this scenario is kinda high and while viserys does tend to just overlook what her kids look like, if one comes out with daemon's face i think it will piss him off just a bit.
i mean if we want to get really poly with it, imagine if laena has a baby that looks like harwin. that actually helps rhaenyra a lot but also that's soooo funny.
let's say a fight still happens between the younger kids. firstly, it's likely coming a few years later than it does in canon, which might be good, might be bad, but it does mean that even if aemond does something absolutely wild like claim vermithor, silverwing, or grey ghost, he gets less time training on dragonback, and is on a smaller, potentially less bloodied dragon. however, the flip side is if it happens too late, when they're older and perhaps a bit angrier, it could spiral out of control in a more violent way. BUT if there's never a reason for them to be alone and purposefully unsupervised (WHAT WAS COLE DOING. HOW DOES THIS IDIOT STILL HAVE A JOB), there's also never a reason for them to get so violent with each other.
i mean we know CRISTON is bothered by rhaenyra's relationships, but one thing i think people constantly discount is that even with the ingrained sexism and general prudishness of westeros......it just doesn't seem like many other people give a shit. the high septon definitely cares considering he also dislikes lady sam when she remarries to lyonel, and i'm sure several reacher lords care. BUT. i do think the way otto and the greens go about taking the capital pisses a number of people off because a lot more people declare for rhaenyra at the onset of the war than aegon. if she's perhaps not being as obvious about her affairs because harwin is gone, daemon is gone, and she's either living by herself at the capital or In The Same City as Laenor, i really think she has an easier time convincing people she's a better choice than aegon.
BUT I do think it can't be understated that some people might turn against her if they feel like she's clearly having an affair with daemon, particularly in the Reach and parts of the Vale.
AT THE SAME TIME. if otto is doing exactly what he does in canon - which is fuck all, btw, everyone always whacks rhaenyra for being stupid but otto does not do anything particularly impressive to gain himself allies, he just expects that going "well aegon is a man" is enough and it's just not. even rhaenys had her supporters and rhaenys was never named princess of dragonstone! as a matter of fact, this man is SURPRISED at how many people don't declare for him which really speaks to a level of superiority and arrogance on par with like 90% of the targs in this era - but he's doing it from oldtown instead of the capital, he has nothing. he has jack shit. he's got what, a handful of houses in the stormlands, reach, westerlands, and the triarchy, and potentially doesn't even have the capital. i'm not saying rhaenyra is gonna be smart and non angry but it would be perilously easy to just send Laenor and Rhaenys to oldtown with their dragons to be like "send that bitch out here right now or we start burning shit" and lock aemond, aegon, and alicent up while parading helaena and her kids around to be like "see i'm not a kinslayer, i love my sister and her kids, they've simply been manipulated by my evil stepmother."
even if rhaenyra isn't in the capital, the war gets easier - Alicent and Cole would have to take the capital themselves and kill like a LOT of people to do it. and meanwhile Steffon Darklyn is sneaking out to let Rhaenyra know something is UP. Then we got every single experienced dragon on Rhaenyra's side, PLUS extra help in the riverlands and driftmark. either otto gets his shit together or he's even more fucked than he is in main canon.
#tried to get this out last night but i had Thoughts and also i had to Work At Work. how dare. asldfjskl#asks#eidetictelekinetic

Ok, I read this(https://www.tumblr.com/maidragoste/736282055465484288/was-your-meme-w-the-daemon-au-about-the-oneshot?source=share) and I definitely need more. So can I get a part 3 where years have passed (like a time skip from EP 6/7) and Daemon x reader are happy with kids (they are the definition of a power couple) and reader is pregnant again. Then they go back to Westeros (maybe to visit Rhaenys or for Laena's own funeral, it's up to you) and the beach scene happens, but instead of being Daemon and Rhaenyra, it's Dae x reader x Rhae. The next day they talk and Rhae gives the speech about needing them and everything. Daemon and reader talk and agree to open their marriage to Rhae. They get married and Rhaenyra gets what she wants. Do they have a really good (and scandalous, obviously) marriage, please? (If you can write people's reactions to the fact that they got married and maybe some cute family moments between the three of them with their children, I would be extremely grateful, but if you can't I'll understand)
Hi Anon, thank you very much for writing to me but I'm not going to write this.
I hope you don't mind but I already have a couple of things planned for this au and adding Rhaenyra to their marriage is not in the plans. I honestly don't see that happening because I can't imagine Daemon sharing Reader with anyone (at least in this au).
Besides, I don't see Daemon and Reader being in favor of Rhaenyra (nor of the greens) because Lucerys, someone who does not have Velaryon blood, is heir to Driftmark instead of their children
I hope you are well anon and that you don't get upset with my answer 💖💖
I hope to hear from you again some other time.

Short little Rhaemond drabble about Aemond doing The Most™️ when helping Rhaena with her hair...
👉👈😙
(A no Dance AU, they are long since married, everyone happy yada yada yada etc. )
- - - - - - - - - -
THE LESSON
Aemond Targaryen was not particularly showy in public with his affections in the beginnings of his marriage. However, this did not mean he held no love for his wife. He was very much in love with Rhaena, but his rigid upbringing did not make him feel comfortable expressing his emotions openly the way so many others did and instead Aemond at first channeled his love into acts of service involving his bride’s hair.
The prince would make a habit of arriving to Rhaena’s chambers early enough that she was still getting ready for the day, and every few weeks he would simply sit and talk with her while her maids went through the process of freshening up her tresses. Until one day to her surprise, the fifth time Rhaena was getting her locks tightened and maintained, Aemond shooed away the maids and set to the work himself.
“I did not know you were experienced in the art of hair care, my love,” Rhaena joked, moving her head at his slight nudges whenever he selected a new loc.
“I’ve seen the maids at it often enough.” Aemond fastened a clutch of locs to Rhaena’s head with a long pin, getting them out of the way of the one he was to work on next. “I can do this for you just as well as they can.”
“So you can,” Rhaena smiled to herself. His hands, so adept with a sword and so skilled with the bow, were soft on her scalp. He was gentle as could be.
“I’ve also found a new tonic for your hair. To brighten the color with your regular washing in between your maintenance days...”
“Oh?”
“Queen Visenya would use it. Her own recipe. Not that you need it but I know how much you admire her and her famous concoctions. This one was buried deep in a food recipe book, of all things.” Rhaena hummed and enjoyed the information Aemond dumped on her as he would continue his work.
As time went on, Rhaena felt more comfortable asking Aemond for his opinions over a new accessory or headpiece to wear, often among guests at a ball or feast. He was usually seen toying with a strand of her hair, growing more comfortable himself in openly showing his love.
Being a royal, people often talk of you and your habits and with Prince Aemond and Lady Rhaena it was no different. First, it had been of the unlikeliness of their betrothal due to their less than amicable childhood. Now, the topic was of Rhaena having her hair looked after by her husband.
Many men of the keep thought it unseemly for a husband to have a fascination with his wife’s hair. Men were supposed to be warriors and rulers of their household, not lower themselves to participate in such frippery as looking after their wife’s hair...
One unfortunate day, one man was bold enough to voice this very opinion at training. Aemond swiftly and without hesitation shot an arrow through his jaw, not killing the man but doing it in such a way that his tongue was skewered through and rendered useless. No one rushed to the man’s side. Aemond called for a maester as he would call for a fresh horse. He tossed the bow to a shocked squire and walked over to the sword table, picking one as he spoke loudly and clearly.
“Let this be a lesson for all of you: my habits concerning my wife are not up for you to discuss,” he declared, picking up a sword and brandishing it. “I’m loathe to have all of you think me weak-willed and unable to handle a jest or hearing your opinions, so let me put you at ease: you can say whatever you wish of me. Talk of my missing eye, like you have for years. Continue talk of my position as a lowly second son. Talk of my lack of decorum at Lady Laena’s funeral all those years ago.” Aemond’s manner of speaking was light, not a hint of wrath in his voice, making his words all the more chilling.
The men remained frozen, the injured man continued screaming as the arriving maester attempted to staunch the flow of blood. Prince Aemond continued. “However, if you feel the need to speak of my lady wife in such a way that the things I do for her are to be perceived as....demeaning..know that your blood will be spilled. That is all.” With an unconcerned air, as if he had just finished giving instructions for the day to an attendant, he turned to clash with Ser Criston and continued training as the man he injured was dragged away.
Needless to say, no man in the red keep felt the need to give voice to such views again and Prince Aemond continued to care for Lady Rhaena’s hair.
#LISTEN I LOVE WRITING CORNY SHIT OK DON’T JUDGE MEEEEEE#rhaemond#rhaena x aemond#aemond targaryen#Rhaena Targaryen#back on my rhaemond bullshit 👉👈🥰#come and get y’all juice#plz judge me kindly my writing is not the best lmao 😅😅😅😅#but I try#dear god do I try 😭#I want to get good at writing and the only way is to embarrass myself on this hellsite I guess 😪#this is so Aemond centric tho...my goal is to write more Rhaena centric stuff soon...

"Grey Ghost was pale grey-white, the color of morning mist."
It seems as though Lucerys cannot escape his inheritence even though he is supposed to be a bastard. So it's just fitting in my opinion, he may not have inherited the looks of a common Targaryen or Velaryon, but he definitely inherited the true spirit of the both. A silver dragon that flies around the sea to catch fish symbolizes the both houses.
I've always loved the wild dragons introduced, because they aren't chained in a pit like the other dragons are, so they can get even bigger and stronger, or just happier. There was a line in one of the books about the dragons getting smaller and weaker since they stayed in one place for too long and didnt hunt for themselves at all (Syrax) (I don't blame Rhaenyra btw I think she made the right choice to just let Syrax pop out eggs since dragons r definitelly needed for the long night) (in the books at least) domesticated basically.
I definitely believe Luke would find another way to keep riding Grey Ghost without injuring neither of them. Because when you look at the dragons in HOTD, there's stouts planted into the dragon's scales to keep the saddle on. I guess I just like the idea of him working on a saddle module day and night like Hiccup did in HTTYD, that would be benefitial for both the rider and the mount. I also like the idea of Grey Ghost roaming free in Driftmark or wherever Luke takes him, because the dragon is shy enough to not approach humans, or even animals. (save fish) So he isn't excatly a danger, and can be not in chains.
I also wanted to add my little headcanon for this AU or any other haha. Since Rhaenys had black and white hair in the book (mainly black) in my imagination Laenor inherited the black hair part from Rhaenys (meanwhile Laena inherited the beautiful silver locks, as did her daughters by Daemon)
Now, Lucerys' hair color is still brown, not black like his father and grandmother. But you can argue that he got the hair from Laenor, it is not so obvious that he is a bastard. But the greens do not leave the Velaryon boys (or in this case boy since jace and joff dead) alone, regardless of how obvious or not obvious it is.
I just don't like how the show portrayed the bastard allegations when there was so much potential. (I guess you can blame it on the limited episodes they had, in a way, but it was their decision how many plotlines they would cover.) Especially how they did Rhaenys so dirty. She was a Rhaenyra supporter from the start and loved the boys like they were her own, and she had black hair.
Onto something else, I also headcanon Lucerys having deep purple eyes, it is not so apparent when you first look at them, they can even pass as black sometimes but when the light hits them or if you look close enough they are definitely a shade of purple.
Also, sorry if my brainrot is too much haha. Just the amount of potential this AU has is making me insane
Grey Ghost really is the best choice for a Lucerys that fully embraces his Velaryon side! You're right about the wild dragons as well, and how well it Grey Ghost suits Lucerys - the dragon that loves the sea and eats fish? 10/10 a perfect meld of both his Houses, and you can guarantee that Corlys would make that observation whenever he had the chance.
And yes to Lucerys using a different saddle type for Grey Ghost. Our boy would respect that his new dragon is still wild, and since he's so reclusive and avoids humans, there's really very little danger to him even if he does come across people. Grey Ghost is more likely to just peace out then attack - so long as he and Lucerys aren't threatened. So he and his rider are perfectly happy to just let him roam and snack on fish when he's not needed.
You don't need to apologise for the headcanons! It's always fascinating to hear how so many people can twist the characters and still make it believable! It shows a lot of passion people have for the story and the characters! That's why fanfiction is such a wonderful and unlimited creative space!
(Also sorry it took so long to get to your message - I got distracted with getting ruination out!)

since we're just picking AUs out of a hat now- Baelon is Rhaenyra's twin, not Visenya?
Baelon and Rhaenyra, the dynamic duo Westeros did not need or want or ask for and would really like to go away!
They bicker so much. Ruthless mocking at all times. She shoved him down the stairs when they were eight. He waterboarded her once. He finds out she has a crush on Daemon when they're fourteen and laughs so hard that he almost throws up. She told the pretty handmaiden he was ogling that he has whatever the Westerosi version of STDs are.
(Baelon: *shoving a dresser in front of his bedroom door so no one can surprise him in the night*
Aemma, who came to say good night: why
Baelon, who put laxatives in Rhaenyra's food two days ago and is anxiously waiting for payback: no reason)
But they love each other! It is very much a "I am allowed to commit war crimes against you and enact terrible punishments upon you, but I will carve out the organs of the next person to make you cry who isn't me" relationship.
Baelon has his mom! He loves his mom, is the epitome of a mama's boy, is always popping in to be like "hi, mother! found you a flower! okay, love you, bye!" He's not as angry, doesn't feel guilty. He has a better relationship with his dad because of this, even if he still feels the pressure and the unease of it all.
(There is always, always the nagging sense that he has forgotten something, is missing something, but he can never figure out what it is.)
Rhaenyra's childhood isn't better exactly because she's still in Baelon's shadow, but she also grows up with less of the desperate energy around her parents having a son. There isn't the constant pressure of "you're a disappointment for not being a boy, we need a prince, why couldn't you have been this, you're useless to us" because Baelon's around.
Now, when Visenya is born, there are two paths it can take.
One, Aemma lives.
Baelon loves his little sister! He does! The age gap is...weird, to say the least, and he doesn't really know what he's supposed to do with her, but hey! Everyone's happy.
They grow up, all of them. Daemon runs off with Rhaenyra--Baelon is significantly more angry about this than our Baelon is, since he's older and more aware that "hey he took my sister into a brothel and then took her from her wedding??" But he gets over it.
His father betroths him to Laena, despite Otto Hightower's wiggling about to put forth his daughter. He doesn't really have a reason to protest, so he doesn't. They get married. They name their daughters Alysanne and Rhaena, and they call their only son Corlys for her father.
He never really falls in love with Laena, but he does love her! They're happy, they're content. It's a nice life.
And, yes, maybe sometimes he catches his eyes lingering on Visenya when she gets older--eighteen and nineteen and twenty. Maybe he likes the way she laughs and the funny faces she makes at him, the jokes she whispers under her breath that make him choke on his wine. Maybe. Maybe she makes that feeling he's had all his life disappear, and he only notices it's back when she's away from him again.
But Baelon isn't Daemon. Baelon is married, Baelon is a father, and she is a girl young enough to be his daughter. Not a full handful of years older than his son. He puts those odd looks and the odd feelings away, locks them away deep and deeper.
(She tries, oh, she tries so hard to make him see her. Her brother with his laughing smile and the warm gaze, who never treats her like a child, who took her flying because her egg never hatched. She loves him, she loves him, but he calls her little sister and never takes the bait.)
And when Visenya marries, some Tully boy with bright eyes and a quick smile, he tells himself the missing feeling had nothing to do with her at all.
Their parents die, eventually. He becomes a king. His son marries one of Rhaenyra's daughters. His twin daughters marry Rhaenyra's twin sons, and they all pretend they don't know why. Visenya has a daughter, and he sees them both at weddings and during visits, and he loves his little sister even if he doesn't understand why looking at her makes his soul ache.
They live. They die. Parallel lines in this life, both alive and breathing right beside each other, but neither of them ever bridges the gap.
Two, Aemma dies in childbirth as she does in canon.
This path is a very depressing path! Baelon and Viserys's relationship is a thousand times worse than it was because he's not losing the idea of a mother, he's lost his mother that he's known and adored for fifteen years.
And, beyond even that, Baelon blames Visenya.
God, does he blame Visenya.
Just. This little brat, this squalling and screaming and useless little thing that he and Rhaenyra had been so excited for! They picked her egg out together, though he let Rhaenyra have the final say, joked to each other over whether the babe would be a boy or a girl. And now she's here. And his mother is gone. Rhaenyra has thrown herself into being around the babe and loving the babe, has decided that Visenya is her responsibility, but Baelon can't. He can't look at her. He hates her, and he knows that isn't rational. He knows! But he can't stop.
His father remarries, and he and Rhaenyra both are furious. It is her friend he marries, the Hightower girl Baelon has never liked very much and liked even less for the way her father was always sleazing about. It is their mother he is disrespecting, taking a wife so soon, a wife so young it is shameful, a wife Baelon knows was sneaking alone into his chambers in the weeks after his mother died. He hates her. He makes no secret of it.
His father weds him to Laena to appease the Velaryons. Rhaenyra is meant to marry some pompous arse of a man, but Daemon snatches her from the wedding. Viserys will not allow her to take Visenya with her, will not allow his brother to return, and so the babe stays. Baelon refuses to have anything to do with her, leaves the table when she is brought too near.
He and Laena have sons, two boys with Laena's brown skin and his violet eyes. They name them Jacaerys and Lucerys.
His stepmother has four children, and he does not hate them, exactly. He does not love them, either. Does not like them, except for the girl. Helaena is sweet and strange, and she asks him often in a prim little voice to lift her up on his shoulders so she might catch the spiders in the corners. He has little use for his brothers, though, Aegon or Daeron or Aemond.
("He looks just like you," Viserys laughed, when Aemond was maybe seven or so, and Baelon turned a flat, expressionless look on his little brother. The boy looked back, lips upturning faintly in the corners, hopeful, hopeful, but it faded when Baelon snorted a laugh.
"I've not nearly as much common blood muddying my veins."
Aemond swallowed, and, beneath the table, Visenya slipped their hands together and squeezed.)
They grow up together, his sons and his siblings, and they are close for the most part. Rhaenyra comes home with her giant brood, occasionally, and then it is a madhouse, but it is usually just the six of them.
His boys and Aegon pick mercilessly at Aemond and Visenya both, they the only two without a dragon, and so the two of them are often alone. Reading on staircases and in the godswood, bickering in the halls, and more than once he's had to restrain himself from tearing into them both when they've gone running past him too quickly to keep from knocking into his shins.
They marry when they're older, as he always thought they would--sneak off to do it, two dragonless whelps half-grown ducking a ship to Dragonstone, and they come back with scars on their lips and dragons beneath them. Visenya and Vermithor. Aemond and Silverwing.
He never forgives her for living. He never forgives her for his mother dying.
Their father dies, and his brothers bend their knees. Part of him always wondered if they would, if he'd have to kill them for it, if he cared enough to kill them for it.
Aemond and Visenya spend a few years bouncing here and there and back again, exploring and exploring, but there is something itching beneath their skin, something calling for them. It will kill them, if it is what he thinks it is. He does not care much.
He's right about the calling, and one day they aim themselves towards Valyria and don't come back down.
They don't come back. He doesn't ever really wish them to.
He lives in this life. So does she. But there is no love between them. No anything, really. Baelon dies first because he always does. Visenya, all those miles away, doesn't even notice.

Alicent and Yorick remaining friends despite being no more innocent children, breaks my heart and at least I'm happy that she has someone that cares about her😭❤
If Yorick and Alicent had been married, the green children(bronze eh) would have been happy❤😭
Gonna take the opportunity to share my silly little headcanons about "The Alirick AU"
Claere lives long enough to talk to Rhea about getting Yorick & Alicent betrothed to discourage more Young Rhaenicent Smooching (Claere Hightower Homophobic Confirmed)
They have a "blend' of Alicent's & Yorick's SOTF!canon kids (see: Yorick's oldest daughter is a canon event, so she's Aegon's twin sister & then Helaena>Aemond>Daeron as actually happens)
Alicent's kids' ages are all shifted down & their names are different: Rhea & Addam (formerly Aegon) are 17, Claere (formerly Helaena) is 15, Yorbert (formerly Aemond) is 14, Theo (formerly Daeron) is 11
The Alirick Dynamic is nowhere near as tooth-rottingly sweet (or ungodly horny) as Yoreen, because after pregnancy #4 it gets pretty clear to Yorick that she's just never gonna be as into him as he is her. So it just sorta becomes "lesbian & her bestie who she has kids with." It's very wholesome & sweet, but not at all romantic (and Yorick doesn't get to indulge in how much of an absolute freak he is capable of being. Everyone pour one out for his being into MILFs & wanting to fuck at the high table not seeing fruition due to Alicent's lesbianism & turbocatholocism)
Alicent's kids (save Daeron, who was raised away from the BS & has a fighting chance regardless) get to be so much more well adjusted, & because that's his actual dad, Aegon isn't unwell about Yorick
Because Alicent isn't there as an option for Vizzy (because if the Alirick match was one of the last things Claere did, I think Otto would be trying to find some other option for raising his House's station just to honor his wife's memory) the marriage to Laena goes through--thus negating the need for Rhaenyra/Laenor, so Rhaenyra marries Harwin & her boys by him are legitimate (Jace becomes Jaehaerys & goes by Jae, Luke is...just Luke, idfk what Joffrey's name is. Maybe they name him after Lyonel's dad? Another Valyrian name?)
This fucks the factions for The Dance majorly & probably heavily alters who the Royce siblings side with (if anyone), because you cannot avoid it unless Laena has zero sons. Corlys would be going to war to put his grandsons on the throne.
This AU kinda fucks over poor Ella. If we're putting The Harwin Push on Rhaenyra, we aren't putting it on her...which just kinda means there's no perfectly timed interruptions by either his brother or The Reachmen Fleet to stop Larys from being fucking weird. I'm not saying that Larella happens, but there is no interruption for his attempting to make it so & IDK what happens there other than him having her as an attack dog is fucking terrifying.
The Daemon/Laena marriage doesn't happen, obvi, so his half-self-imposed exile in Essos goes very differently. Am I sure how differently? No.
Aemon's story does not change at all. Literally zero changes other than who he's absurdly loyal & concerningly attached to (see: Alicent &...no, I shant say)

Sauron Mairon Halbrand y Alicent
I always make the joke that Sauron is Aule's daddy's boy and keep it canon. So I have an idea:
AU Where Sauron in human form ends up in Westeros and sees Yvanna. She is Yvanna, she is the wife of dad / Aule. She is mom. And mom is crying. And yes, I'm adding to the theory that Melkor's giant spider is from Lovecrath's universe, so crossovers are possible!
Sauron can't help. Here he is nobody and he has not recovered his powers. He is sickened by the mess, by the Targaryen traditions of marrying each other. Sauron notices that Mama is biting her nails. Mom should be happy and have trees. And mom should pay attention to it and be happy with those creepy trees with faces.
Alicent does not understand who gives her personalized jewelry with the theme of Mother and Maiden. She knows Sauron. "Hello my lady"
Sauron disguises himself as a cat to attend Alicent and Viserys' meetings. He is against Otto's plan, mom is fifteen years old. Fifteen fucking human years.
This can go two ways:
Sauron kills all the dragons because Alicent made a comment that while Syrax is beautiful she would never ride a dragon. Mom is afraid, now I have to protect her, be the man of the house because mom can't be married to another man who isn't dad.
Daemon boasts that he took Alicent's virginity and is killed by Sauron. Mom is from dad.
Sauron manages to find the equivalent of Aule in this world and cheats on the parents.
Alicent is very sure she is ready to have children after stopping Sauron from conquering Middle-earth.
Sauron takes the form of a child. More shenanigans to come, now he has everything he wants, for now.
Alicent and any poor man who is Aule in this universe, congratulations. Their son is a narcissistic sociopath who loves them with all his heart.
In another line, Alicent marries Viserys, but Mairon has not regained his power, so he cannot prevent his mother from being raped.
Sauron discovers that his siblings are nuisances, but they will give Mom more power. Mom is a goddess, a Valar, but also a 15-year-old girl.
So Sauron takes over Aegon, comforts Mum, tells Aegon he's a little shit worse than Curumo and Aegon's first word is shit.
Helena is born. And here she is different. Sauron hated Curumo for stealing Daddy's attention, but he respected Melian. He now has another sister, who is also a woman in a world of shit. But Heleana has magical potential, so he will teach her well. He will teach her to lie, to deceive, to put on makeup.
All of this happens while Sauron takes the form of a little boy so he can stay with the queen alone. Alicent hugs him and hugs from mom feel good. On one hand, Alicent recognizes that Mairon/Sauron has a connection. She loves him, she is his mother in all the universes. But her son is evil and she knows it. But he hasn't proven to be more evil than the other men.
Aemond is born and Sauron throws a tantrum. He doesn't want another brother and hates him as much as he hates Aegon for hogging Mom's attention. Then Daeron is born and Sauron screams because there is so much evil in the world! Criston Cole is horrible, but he makes mom happy. As long as he isn't platonic, Sauron will keep it. Suddenly, Sauron can shapeshift into a dragon. Since he hates Rhaenyra's bastards he plans to play a little prank at Laena's funeral. Nothing to go wrong. He just needs Aemond's help. Aemond claims a dragon and that dragon leads everyone to see Rhaenyra doing it with his uncle.
And shit breaks loose. Aemond is happy to have a dragon, the Velarions are angry, and Laenor calls for a duel against Daemon for his sister's honor.
Laenor wins and kills Daemon. Rhaenyra will go on trial for being an adulteress and Harwin will be her champion. Then Criston Cole kicks Harwin's ass. Heleana uses her magic to make Rhaenyra admit the truth about her bastards. Alicent rebukes Sauron because now there is a political mess and because his brother thought he had a dragon. "It was just a joke, mom, I didn't know it would go this far," she says with puppy dog eyes.
